What makes Kotak Securities different from the competition?
Kotak Securities has many hidden and illegal charges. As per their website including its example of trading, it do not mention 'other charges'. But they charge 0.04% other charges as per their contract note/schedule of charges. This is in addition to brokerage, GST, STT etc. Over and above they deducted 'other charges' in every trade from my fund with them as reflected in ledger. Customer service/explanation is befooling to say the least. Trinity a/c is name sake since no pay out seemlessly as claimed by it.

Its very convenient to trade through kotak securities, but brokerage is very high in comparison to so many other companies which are offering very nominal rather negligible brokerage. I generally deal in options , for which brokerage charged by Kotak securities is very high and thus my margin is reduced to minimum.Thanks

Guys, This is truly a SCAM. They got a worst trading platform which is slow as hell. There are nothing but running a scam platform. I will share one of my infinite bad experience with Kotak Securities. I usually trade Nifty options. End of Tuesday i.e 16/06/2020 - I had 35,239 balance left in my account. End of Wednesday i.e 17/06/2020 - I had 13,072 balance left (because I lost 21,821+other charges.) Thursday morning i.e. 18/06/2020 - I should have started with a balance of 13,072.
Instead, I started with 35,239 (which is Tuesday's balance). This allowed me to buy 10 lots of Nifty. Total premium was 32,321 This order went through because I had 35,239 in my account. I remember seeing 35,239 as margin available in the order receipt So, the calculation is: 13,072(my actual balance) - 32,321(premium) - 75 - 22 = 19,346. This is very straightforward. 75 & 22 are other charges and STT.
Next day, when I received the text message stating -19,346. I went to see the ledger and realized I got fooled. System did not update the right balance amount in my account and it did let me buy more than I could afford. I was already so mad about Kotak Securities platform for several other issues I was facing and now this. In my 4 years of trading career (mostly in USA) I have never faced such issues.
Your Customer support team keeps telling me it's because of the margin. Even after all this detailed explanation. If you think its margin, I would like to challenge you. I will deposit 30,000 so that I have around 10,700 left. I will try to take a trade. If am not allowed to buy options, of premium worth of more than 10,700. Will you refund me the total amount?
This is really outrageous and frustrating. I would not pay unnecessary amount which am not responsible for.

1.This is traditional broker, lack of some of valuable services like auto square off and bifurcation of intraday and delivery. 2.Brokerage is extremely high. 3.No Support from kotak team. Actually they have only account opening team. This was my worse decision.

Request to close a trading n demat account is reject after around 25 days. Only because these cheaters wants to deduct charges for demat for no reason.

The customer service of Kotak Securities is pathetic. I am roaming for last one month to change my name spelling in Demat Account but the behaviour of Kotak Securities staff of its Brabourne Road and Russel Street Branch in Kolkata is simply harrasing me. Though i have got updated name in my Pan Card, Aadhar Card and Passport. All my banks have done it within a day--But in case of Kotak Securities I am roaming for last one month. My suggestion to everbody--Please don't open a Demat Account in Kotak Securities. The Employees of this organisation will simply harras you.
