I have an NRE/NRO account with an indian bank. I have a demat account also. Now I am a Canadian Citizen and want to open an Online Trading account. Are trere any restrictions for Canadian citizens to have Online Trading account? I've heard that US Citizens are not allowed to have Online Trading account to trade with stocks in India.
Do you have any information on this? Is there any website or something where I can get this information.
Thanks
A.Fernandes

I want to close my HDFC demat online acoount for which It took me three visit to their office. after 10 days the online trding acount is closed but share amount has not yet been transfered to my HDFC bank A/C.BSNL says, The HDFC customer service phone no. 1800-22-9700 does not exist and has changed.
My feeling is that The service to the customer by HDFC is only for opening an account not closing an account(DEMAT as well as BANK).

I had a savings bank account with HDFC BANK. THE AQB WAS RS 2500. But suddenly I found they deduct rs 827/- (including service tax) without any notice. While questioning the bank official said that AQB has incresed to rs 10000/-.But the bank never give any notice or reminder or clarification to me . It is a shame for HDFC Bank . A real cheater in banking sector.

pathetic website , contact and cusotmer service. Did you see their website , scroll down branches in Mumbai and none of them have phone numbers.

what sort of marketing is this./ further , they do not have any contact e-mail . do you think if there are NRI's logging on have time for this archaic system that acts like a secret bank without sharing their contacts .what a waste of time .they want to do business in 21 st Century, with primitive evasive technology what is with these companies who are so user unfriendly and think everyone should be geek to figure out their contacts.?
