Sir, Record Date is yet to be announced. So, you can purchase at any time up to three days (to be safe) before the Record Date to qualify for the buyback. Thank you n all the best.
why are people after record date , its the ex-date on which one shd have the tcs stocks in their account to be eligible. It takes t+2 days for settlement , so make sure you buy sthg like this as an EXAMPLE- 1 march shares would actually come to yr account and settle on 3rd march (EOD) so if the ex-date also falls on 03rd March , then also it would be considered for buyback.
@avinash: As informed in earlier messages on this current page, evoting will be there and ongoing. For most IT companies, evoting happens in buyback. IPOINPUT:You can purchase tcs shares upto 2 days before record date, to be eligible for buyback and record date is still not announced.
Record date will be announced on 15th feb after evoting results and record date will be probably around 21st to 25th feb any day.
Thanks @ lokes I am buying in all accounts regularly. Right now the average is a little below 3800. even at 50% AR the price of remaining shares would be 3100 only. I will hold remaining shares and buys big quantity if it goes to 2800. I know TCS will again do a buyback after two years and the price can be 5000 that time.
MOIL is a very good short term opportunity to earn minimum 5-10% in a weeks or10 days period. Remember, it is a very very high probability opportunity but not a guaranteed one.
First time I'm participating in Ajanta Pharma Buyback process and I have Demat account with HDFC Securities. When we are tendering our shares in Buyback, there is a field called Facilitator. Can anyone using HDFC Securities, can you please tell what should we fill here?
Emami is likely to consider the Buyback of the shares during the meeting of the Board of Directors on 03/02/2022. However, the previous buyback in 2020 was through the Open Offer. Let’s wait and see the outcome of the meeting of the Board of Directors. Thank you.
Prasen ji, BUYBACK of HGS shares is likely to be during the last week of this month/ first or second week of March. It’s only a presumption. No confirmation of the period of the buyback so far. In the open market mode, buyback of shares will be done through the stock exchange at the then prevailing rates. No fixed price. The period of buyback will be for a longer period. Not of any advantageous position to the investors except the probability of price increases to certain extent before or during the period of buyback. In the case of Tender route, the price will be a fixed one and the period of the buyback will be normally for two weeks only. Process will be through the Registrar of the buyback. As you will be knowing the price of the buyback, you can take a decision whether you can participate by purchasing the shares afresh duly ensuring that the shares will be credited to the Dmat account by the record date. If you go through the messages in the buyback pages, you will definitely be understanding better. Thank you.
For Moil Ltd. I have 5000 shares of the Moil Ltd. And my entitlement for buyback offer is only 679 shares…
Now the share price is approximately equal to my purchase price… So what should I do? should I tender all 5000 share in buyback offer or should I tender only 679 shares and sell the remaining shares in the market before 10 February 2022? please guide
@jetha lal: Acceptance ratio can be anything from 50 to 100% , mainly will be depending on share price during tender period. Due to any reason if share price comes around 4200 or above during tender period, then AR may be around 100% and if price keeps below 4K then AR will be lesser around 40-70%. There are many new shareholders this time in retail category just for buyback purpose so it will definitely reduce AR this time. But still in any case, i don't think it will be lesser than 40-50%.
@Lokes Hi Lokes, If you don't mind, Can you enlighten me on how AR is linked with share price during the tender period. I didn't get this answer in chittorgarh article. Thank you.
@Newrookie : if price comes around 4100-4200 suppose any day during tender period then many retailers may sell all shares in open market because in buyback if all are not accepted so remaining shares carries risk of price going down after buyback but in open market all can be sold earning decent risk free profit and amount will be received 10-15 days before only. So less people will tender so more AR as @rajkumar also explained.
@pigeon @ganesh: record date is 19th feb for moil dividend and buyback settlement is 21st feb. Dividend amount will be declared in board meeting on 11th feb. And share price sometimes increases in tender period since some people may buy to tender in buyback who might have sold after record date.
Price of MOIL on record date i.e. 31st Dec 21 was 169.10 which is lower than my acquisition cost per unit. Do I have any tax liability? Or it is Govt. liability to pay me refund 😊😁😁(on lighter note.. they are such a sucker...life goes paying tax..)
No tax liability on share tendered in buyback. even acquisition price of MOIL for me was Rs. 139 only, but hopefully I would not have to pay any LTCG on accepted shares under buyback.
one of my old Demat account with Reliance securities have same problem. I wrote to customer care for the buyback with the quantity to be tendered. they have tendered the quantity after one day.

Money was credited in bank account (mentioned in demat) on 21st Jan itself to everyone mostly. You need to check with registrar kfintech if you didn't received.
Pigeon ji, The shares held on the Record Date and tendered for the buyback will be debited/ blocked on the day or next day of the tendering. The unaccepted shares will be credited back to your Dmat account after the final settlement. Thank you.
Thanks for the response KSKR Sir.. I tendered all the shares via Zerodha Console last Friday.I could still see all the shares in Kite app. Checking the bid status in Console shows Pending status
@pigeon: In zerodha, they mark shares for debit on last date or after last date of tender i think. Then you will not see shares in portfolio. Now you can see but anyways you can't (should not) sell so it doesn't matter when shares are debited from account. In actual, you can sell shares still in open market from your zerodha account, then your buyback order will fail later when it will go to exchange. I had checked with them on call during nucleus buyback.
TCS Buyback
I will buy some more shares today and on Monday. Hope those shares qualify for BB
