I have bought some shares after the record date. can I tender those shares as well in the buyback ? I believe it is not possible but just wanted to check with experts. this is my first buyback participation. So just wanted to check.
Nothing harm...All your shares will be blocked from tender date to release date and you cannot sell before that. I think it is better to tender 50% shares as AR will be anyways far lesser than 50% and can sell rest if there is any spike the price.
Please check your spam folder. In one of my accounts I got in spam folder. I have seen comments in past that if one holds only one share then that is accepted. So curious to know what happens in your case.
@Suneel Padavala, I had 1 share each of TCS on record date in different acounts with different PAN in icicidurect, today I tebdered both for BB,now in one account status showing executed while in the other it's showing ordered, why? Can u clarify, Thanks
Sir, I wholeheartedly n completely agree with your views prevailing in the present situation. I admire your experienced views. How long the massacre continues is a million dollar question and the correct entry price of a particular share cannot be easily assessed. I always prefer IPOs/ Buybacks only as I can’t afford to loose any, in view of my limitations. Thank you very much for sharing. Please keep posting your views.
Dear experts, this is my first buyback. I want to ask, is it possible that once I tender by shares on 9th march and later on if price comes to 4000, can I sell my shares even though I've filled the tender form? Or once I fill the tender form, my shares will be "locked" until the whole buyback process is completed?
Tcs feel its price of 4500 thats why they buybacks its own shares worth 18000cr. Now if you are convinced with it you may buy some with SIP in future Otherwise go for wipro or hcl tech
HCL and TCS both had margin miss last quarter and HCL quarterly growth rate is higher than TCS, But still market punished HCL badly for margin miss (down 7% today) but TCS escaped unscathed. The reason is not difficult to comprehend .........Buyback which was strategically announced only few days before the result declaration.
One can expect significant price reduction post record date which should not be a problem for long term investors. I also believe that record date may be delayed deliberately by TCS management to support the stock with Buyback.
Entering into the stock just for buyback has its own issues and each one of us should take call based on their own risk profile rather than following the herd.
I believe that stock will oscillate within wider range of 3800 to 4200 before the record date.
Even without war, the TCS stock was destined to underperform its peers like Infosys & HCL Tech in the short to mid terms because of the relative business under-performance for last few quarters. News of buyback has been supporting the price so far and then the war started.
Blind buying for any corporate action doesn't work always and the new investors will do better if they are aware of the risks before following the herd and nurturing "un-realistic expectation of guaranteed gains without having any knowledge and skills." Now most of the folks will not have any options but hold and keep the money blocked for longer term or book loss & exit from the left over stocks after buyback tendering.
AR will be expected @25% Those who bought around 3800 odd level will face some loss as of today but one should hold remaining stocks Mostly all eligible shareholders has received emails If someone missed it then please check spam folder Or confirm with registrar
