Thank you ADMIN for opening this page. I think we are now seeing better structure and traction on buybacks from all users as well. One query , why does the username and login needs to be entered for Buyback page while for IPO message board the credentials need to be entered less number of times.. is it by design or needs to be changed?
@Vantage, Login is made mandatory to post a message on IPO pages. Login is optional to post a message on buyback pages.
We enable login where there is more spamming. Buybacks are running fine for now. If you are logged in, you don't have to fill in the information like name and email.
Hi, I have observed that the buyback amount was credited by TCS for 10 shares. however, the funds were reversed again March 31, 2022. Any reason for the same? Further, 10 shares were not added to the demat account post reversal.
TCS buy back reveals an interesting conundrum. This board , other financial newspapers, media, brokers, digital media advocated all about good acceptance at big price difference highlighting 15% reservation portion to small shareholders. This attracted lakhs in buying small quantities in multiple accounts. The word is so well spread that even retail shareholders holding above 56 shares began to shed their extra quantities to be in this category. This was also due to 100% AR in past buy back where they felt missed out.
Buyback is mainly an opportunity provided to shareholders to distribute surplus cash more efficiently in lieu of dividends now tax inefficient. In TCS particularly , due to excessive information disseminated several long term retail shareholders sold excess shares at higher prices before record dates to be below 2 lakh holdings and then bought back post record date at much lower prices. So naturally numbers wanting to shares preferential 15% small investors added up reducing the AR. These are real earners both from markets and higher AR. They are real winners from both ends as they don't need to wait for their balance share price to rise immediately with their original holding at historical prices.
This now may repeat in all good company buy backs specially A class shares. So, one needs to be watchful before deciding to participate, if investment is only for purpose of leveraging from buy back. Buy back process in itself takes about 8 to 10 weeks...
Ou Ai ji, Very very nice analytical views. I wholeheartedly appreciate your efforts to place the elaborated study. Good. Please keep posting such helpful messages. Thank you.
My Broker has charged STT & other taxes plus brokerage also. Although, I've not received the sale proceeds or fund from TCS for the share sold that TCS accepted from my Demat A/C.
It's very unfortunate that TCS hasn't made the payment for the share that they have taken from DEMAT account even after expiry of 11-days from date of transfer of share from my Demat to TCS a/c. Place:- Kolkata// PEERLESS SECURITIES.
@experts I’ve purchased 100@155, and looking to buy more 400 shares. I understand that if price goes below 155, it’s a good opportunity to buy more and average it out.
But, I’m bit of confused, what strategy we should follow if price moves higher, like it’s already 161 as of writing this. Like, can I buy more 100@165, 100@170 and so on.
@captainjack ji, thanks for your views, I agree with you. Besides that, would you please also help me what would be the best strategy if price goes up in the case where I just want buy 500 mores.
GAIL buyback is similar to TCS buyback (~1.25% ) AR will be in between 25-30% considering current Shareholding pattern and price. It's worthy to accumulate around Rs 145 for 6-8% gain in 2 month time. Strict NO above 150.
After tcs retailers are going to participate heavily in Gail so might be AR not going to much favorable in retailers this is just my opinion experts please give your opinion
Harit ji, The number of investors have been increasing in many folds and hence the AR may not be that much attractive as seen in TCS. However, I still believe that this buyback will reasonably be good. I am hopeful that the Buyback price will be around Rs.160/- or Rs.165/-. I wish to place buy order @ Rs.148/-. Let us wait and see. All the best,Sir. Thank you.
@KAMMA SIVA RAMA KRISHNA ji, As GAIL has announced buyback@190, can we enter at the CMP 155? And what should be the strategy further until 22nd April Record Date, buying on dips? Thanks a lot in advance.
AR in GAIL will be around 30% as of now according to my source @ksrk ji What's your calculations? As far as TCS It's near to my break even of 3765 but I will hold remaining 136/176(4 acc.) For some time By the dec.22 or before it will touch 4250 which is my target What's your plan sir?
@KAMMA SIVA RAMA KRISHNA sir, @Lokes sir Please tell should we apply for GAIL buyback, what could be expected AR and ER in GAIL? What price should we buy for GAIL?
Atul Limited Buyback
