Those who are holding more than 131 shares falls in the general category. The ER for the same is 11 shares for 411 shares held. So 53 shares are entitled for buyback.
In Angel 1 share strategy worked but in zerodha it didn't. Why ? All 6 accounts in Angel 1 share accepted but all 4 accounts in zerodha it was not accepted.
I have reached out to Link Intike for the update, as per them they are awaiting confirmation from exchanged and after they'll start sending the amount to eligible candidates. The approx TAT they advised is by EOD today or by EOD this week.
One can buy 1 share of company and tender it during buyback. Chances are it will be accepted, whereas for multiple shareholders acceptance ratio may be different. In case of GPIL with current price of 1100, one can expect Rs 300 gains if buyback goes through. This gain is totally tax free. So, if someone maintains say 6 accounts of family and friends, 1 share strategy will yield 1800 Rs tax free gains.
Check the retail shares number in buyback. Now check retail shareholding from bse site. If retail shareholders number < retail shares in buyback , then 1 share strategy will work definitely. Example, eclerx buyback Buyback Size : 1375000 Shares Retail Quota : 206250 Shares (15% of total buyback always ) Retail Shareholders till march 2024 are ~45000 only. ( shareholding upto 2lk rs ) So here, approx 2lk shares in retail quota and just 45k people, hence 1 share strategy will work for sure here. For buyback, registrar accepts 1 shares first of all participants, then goes on proportionate basis for those who applied higher shares for buyback. Hope you understand.
Little amendments here.First buyback fas per ER and then from left over shares one each to one who don't have any ER and again left over shares on proportionate basis to ER personal.
@ANJAY Could you explain what you're trying to say on the basis of ER? I understood @UjwalG view but not yours Further explanation would be appreciated
TOTAL RETAIL QUOTA = 1000 TOTAL SHARES HELD BY 800 RETAILERS = 10000 HERE ER = 1 OUT OF 10 = 10% NOW SUPPOSE 600 RETAILERS APPLIED FOR BB AND IN THIS 200 RETAILERS ARE WITH 1 SHARES ONLY.
NOW 400 RETAILERS WILL FIRST BE ALLOTTED AS PER THEIR ER 200 RETAILER WITH ONE SHARES WILL BE ALLOTTED ONE EACH IF ANY SHARES LEFT AFRER ALLOTMENT AS PER ER .
IF STILL SHARES ARE LEFT THEN IT WILL BE ALLOTTED TO THOSE WHO HAVE APPLIED MORE THEN THEIR ER.
