I hold 84 shares but got the mail for tendering only 16 shares. Can i tender all the 84 shares or would i be allowed to tender only 16 shares. If i can tender all the 84 shares then what is the relevance of ER. Thanks in advance.
Ramkrishna ji, It is suggested to tender all the 84 shares held on the Record Date to get the maximum benefit as AR is likely to be more than the ER due to non tendering of all the/some of the shares by the investors due to their own reasons. Please spare some time to read the messages in the buyback pages to better understand the subject.Thank you.
@Radkrish: Relevance of ER is that guaranteed those no. of shares will be accepted by company as per your entitlement. Means if you even tender 16 shares only, then all 16 will be accepted. But if you tender all 84 shares, then other than 16, some more shares will be accepted in proportionate method as per as per availability of shares due to non participation of everyone, and that final accepted shares ratio will be called as acceptance ratio.
Thanks @Lokes. If AR is less tahan 50%, then it may not be profitable. Anyhow, let's see, stock is also below purchase price now. I haave 40 shares at average 2260/-
@Kishen : you are not eligible else you would have got email. You can once check your spam folder also. Debit might have happened from your account by 14th. For buybacks, never sell share until record date, its not like bonus/dividend where you can sell on ex date and still be eligible. @suneel: yesterday ajanta pharma moved a lot and i feel on monday also it will move up due to buyback opening news. it may come near or cross your buy price. And buyback will be profitable even if AR lesser than 50%, don't worry.
KSRK sir, lokes and others - Are you guys still accumulating TCS or already bought completely ? I bought 7 @3870. Today at 3830 its more attractive but dont have much fund now. Will buy once Nucleus funds release. Still more 38 shares i want to buy. Thinking that on budget or after budget it might fall more. What do you think, will it go below 3800?
@ DuckkyDuck : i am buying from two accounts....i bought around 20 shares in both account around 3870 avg price, will add more if it goes down....will leave some room for addition after budget also else if no fall after budget then will add remaining 5-10 shares at whatever price near record date. it can go below 3800 like gone today itself, next week also, depends on market mood. but probably due to buyback, it wont do much down until 2 days before record date.
I also bought 20 Shares at average price of 3900/-. Thought of averaging more around 3700/-, however stock reversed from 3780/- Assuming we have funds, is it better to go in General Category or Retail category??. Since there will be guaranteed returns, asking this question. Anyhow after Adani Wilmar IPO, we may not have any good IPOs.
@suneel: for sure, retail category will have better acceptance ratio here as informed in my other post also in this forum. Promoters are also participating to good extent so general category will have much lesser acceptance.

Thanks @Lokes, If promoter is tendering his shares in buyback, then AR will be very less. If not, for stocks like TCS, general category will be much profitable.
Yes; you can tender as many as you may have. No confusion. If the total price is less than 2 lac, you will come under retail category with prospect of larger benefit.
@RK sharma: yes as @asoke mentioned, you will be eligible for buyback with any number of shares and you can tender any no. of shares. You may sell 5 shares before record date to be sure to come under retail category where more shares will be accepted in buyback tender.
In my Dp account as on 30.12.2021 i have 150 shares credited but I don't have any emil from Company. So, is there any process ? Please give me gudience.
Sir, If you have the credit by 31/12, you are likely to receive a mail from the Registrar. Please check up the SPASM as some times the messages will be received there instead of the main mail box. Thank you.
Today I came to know that my broker ( https://trade.myespresso.com/) is not providing any facility/help for Buyback bidding, so I want to know that what are the other options available with me for Buyback bidding ( on the day of Buyback).
Open demat account with other broker and then buy from that demat account :) Shares can be tendered via broker only. You can one more time check with your broker may be, mostly brokers allow. or you can open account in zerodha or groww or uptox etc etc Zerodha allows to tender from site itself, other brokers am not sure how. you can ask them before account opening.
Sir, Sorry to disappoint you. Only around 49% AR is noticed in Retail (small shareholder) Category. At the first instance, all the shares you have tendered will be debited/ blocked from your account. The unaccepted shares will be credited back to your Dmat account shortly. Thank you.

@KSRK sir: for you, we discussed that you can have 1 account with retail and 1 account with general category but unluckily due to share price fall in last 2 days upto record date, you came in retail category from other account too. That was bad luck for you, you informed no money to add more shares else if you had added some more shares then from one account, you would be having 80% acceptance. Anyways still its good profit deal considering price move today. Congrats :)

Lokes ji, No problem. Sometimes it happens. Things will not work out always as per our wish. I am happy with the reasonable AR of more than my anticipation. Thank you.

@KSRK: yes we didn't knew price will fall so much on record date else you would be in general category from one account. ya anyways its still profitable deal.
@Ramakrishna Mallipudi : if you are able to see remaining shares in your portfolio in demat account then you can sell them in normal way.
From last 5 days, prices are beaten down too much in this share without any reason so for remaining shares, selling will be in loss only for mostly. Still this buyback deal will be good profitable if acceptance ratio comes around 70%
yes acceptance ratio is less than expected, no idea how.... But atleast share price giving very good upmove now, since in general category, 80% of tendered shares were bought back so some buying demand is there now. Better to book profit for remaining shares too whenever they are credited back in broker account.
Share price fallen a lot from todays high, so good whoever sold it at upper price today, i sold half of my holdings at 590 and holding remaining. I feel it can again come above 600 in short term once market supports since a lot of shares are extinguish now from buyback and there won't be much selling pressure from general category atleast.
Is there any HNI category as part of general category in buyback? Retail cap is 2 lakh. If i have more than 2 lakh worth of tcs share, let say 100 share, and i want to tender all, what could be estimated AR/ER based on previous buyback of tcs... or we cant apply in general category ?
@snipperRaj : only two categories are there: retail category below 2 lakh holding as per record date price and remaining all as general category above 2 lakh holding. Acceptance ratio of general category will be usually less around 20-35% (it was around 30% last time) while in retail category it can be anything between 50 to 100% depending on the share price during tender period.
@ramsan: you can get more info on buyback from here: https://www.chittorgarh.com/article/buyback-of-shares-meaning-procedure-and-taxation/517/ https://investorzone.in/everything-about-the-buyback-you-want-to-know/
you need to buy shares upto 2 days before record date (below 2 lakh value to be under retail category which has 15% reservation so generally more shares are accepted back by company in retail category) you will get mail from registrar after record date is over for your eligibility and shares holding on record date. you can place order from your broker site for all shares as holded on record date as per mail. In buyback mail, dates will be mentioned for tender period upto which you can tender shares in zerodha. Also read below link info in zerodha. For other brokers, you can call them to know how to place order for tendering shares when buyback period opens. https://support.zerodha.com/category/trading-and-markets/corporate-actions/articles/how-do-i-apply-for-buy-back
I think tomorrow final settlement of orders will happen and we will come to know tomorrow about acceptance ratio. 21st Jan was the date for settlement of bids.
Only 48% acceptance ratio in retail. Anyway after all the deduction (STT, Exchange charges, Zerodha buyback fee, Depository charges) Rs 698/ share. Anyway good profit.
I am having 300 in my one demat on rd and 111 in second demat in RD .I will be considered as retail or general category in nucleus software both are on single my name .

Sir, It is suggested to tender all the shares held on the Record Date to get the maximum benefit as AR is likely to be more than the ER due to non tendering of all the/some of the shares by the investors due to their own reasons. Thank you.
I bought MOIL shares on 31st Dec (record date) but as per current rules (T+2) it got credited in my account on 3rd Jan.... so, am I eligible for buyback or not ?
PS: I have not received any mail from MOIL, if I'm nit eligible, then wish to sell those shares. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!
MOIL Buyback
Kamma Siva Rama Krishna jiI hold 84 shares but got the mail for tendering only 16 shares. Can i tender all the 84 shares or would i be allowed to tender only 16 shares. If i can tender all the 84 shares then what is the relevance of ER.
Thanks in advance.
