Dear Members,

I am holding around 40 shares of TCS and i have pledged the same for getting margin benefit for trading options.

1. Whether pledged shares also will be considered eligible ?
2. Can i keep the same pledged from now till the buyback offer closes and unpledge the same two days before the offer close date and tender it for buyback ? Ex : Assuming offer closes on say 31 march,i will keep the same pledged till 29thtmarch and then on 30th morning, I will unpledge it and then tender it for buyback.

Pledged shares are eligible.

However not sure on question 2 because total my demat team asked me to unpledge it due to buyback.

Yes you can un pledge just before closing of issue. But, keep adequate number of days for your broker to reflect the shares in your allocation. This varies from broker to broker, 1~3 days.
