@Antarix , @lokes Someone told me that TCS price will approach 3300.00 levels.. Do u see any possibilities? And if that happens than buying directly worth rs. 2 lac will be beneficial without buyback?
I am not sure about that. But if that happens, I will be very happy and will buy some more. 3300 is very attractive level. Hope that happens after record date.
I could not understand second part of your question.
It loks like Hemant hasn't yet purchased and is saying that it will be better to buy at a lower rate from sec mkt and not get into the business of buyback. But Hemant, Generally speaking, it's possible but not probable. If I were you I wouldn't assume this and not participate IN BB
if you compare last 1 month's performance with Infy
TCS ( amonth ago) : 4033 today : 3784 it dropped around 6%
Infy : 1918 today : 1706 around 11%
HCL : from 1261 to 1163( around 8%)
this is when Infy announced better results HCL didn't crack much because it is trading at much lower P/E multiples so I wouldn't be surprised if TCS cracks by around 5% to even the gap
from 3850, to go to 3300, it has to crack around 14% which is possible( market is volatile and is punishing richly valued shares) but even then people who have bough shares to participate in buyback, they wouldn't be in loss because AR should be around 30%
after ex date, normally prices will go down. In my opinion, it can go upto 3500 in 1-2 week or by 3400 not lesser, until bigger market crash like nifty going below 16K. And during tender period, prices may again rise upto 3700--3900. Mostly it depends a lot on market conditions too.
@lokes , others Say the record date has passed n it was recorded that a person has 44 shares as on 23 rd. Now , say the Share price drops and person buys 50 more shares before buyback tender date.
Now say the person tenders 44 / 94 shares , still would they qualify to be in retail category ? If yes, jolly good If no, then what significance does record date have?
@vantage: As i posted so many times before also, retail category is decided by 2 lakh value of shares on record date as per share closing price on record date, no matter how many shares you sell/buy after record date. And Max shares we can tender as per held on record date, no matter how many times we are buying/selling after record date and how many shares holding after record date.
