all those waiting to buy shares at 40 or so in zomato can keep dreaming. I dont agree to valuations that it is demanding at 76 rs however in bull market you can sell anything.

this is a national company which will soon come up with its own cloud kitchen. data is new oil. i do see it going down if amazon comes but i dont think it has same edge as zomato. just like how burger king entry dint impact mac d, same way for zomato. No matter how many airlines are there, Indigo is class apart. just like this for zomato.

Two questions...

1) What is the asset breakdown by class for 871.35 Crore asset of Zomato? Anyone have the idea and can summarize here?
QIB subscription details tell there will be not chance of discount listing or value degradation below issue price post listing.

2) Sona BLW got 2500 crore by mutual funds post listing. Will it give handsome gain in an year? I track daily so remain worried!

I belive this IPO will prove many Pundits wrong. This is the power of Tech and will pave a long way for future Tech companies to go for an IPO.

Indian markets are more derived by sentiments rather than mathematics.

I may be wrong here but this is my opinion. I have applied and will keep it for long. Because Zomato is a data gold mine when it comes to information about there customers, there preferences and food habits. Today, who has this data has the advantage over the market. Zomato can do a lot more with this data, venture into different platforms and can even share this data in partnership.

So, I am going to hold on to the shares for a long term if allotted. That is why you see the market rush from institutions as they know how valuable the data is which zomato has.

Read this Nithin kamatha twitter account on how allotment is done .sharing this and hope could be usefull for few

1)Once all the bids are collected & the IPO closes, it is the responsibility of the Registrar and Transfer agent (RTA) to finalize the allotment of shares. The RTA follows the rules laid down by SEBI in "General Information Document for Investing in Public Offers."
2)In the Retail category, if there is oversubscription (aka the demand for the allotment of shares is more than the actual number of shares reserved for this particular category), then allotment happens via the draw of lots method. Let us try to understand this using an example.
3)Assume a company offers 1000 shares via IPO, 10% earmarked for retail category, i.e. 100 shares. After the bidding window, RTA collates all the information. The lot size is 5 shares. Retail can bid between 1 to 5 lots.
4)RTA''s main objective is to allot a min. of 1 lot to the maximum number of people. Also, RTA will try their best to avoid fractional shares and minimize odd lot allotment from happening.
5)The RTA calculated the ‘allotment ratio’ by dividing available shares by applied shares, i.e. 100/2850 = 0.035088.
6)Going by the above example, 100 applicants have applied for 1 lot, i.e. 100 people applying for 5 shares each = 500 shares. RTA, multiplies this by allotment ratio i.e 500 * 0.035088 = 17.5
7)Since 17.5 is an odd number, they round this off to the nearest multiple of the lot size, i.e. 15. Hence 15 shares or 3 lots. This means, out of the 100 applicants, only 3 people will get the allotment of 1 lot each.
8) Now, 75 applicants have applied for 2 lots or 750 shares ( 75 * 5 * 2). Multiplying this with allotment ratio of 0.035088, we get 750 * 0.035088 = 26.315 or 30 shares. In terms of lots, it is 6 lots. Or 3 applicants will get 2 lots each from the 75 applicants.

@Dinesh Singh As of now the market estimates HNI oversubscription of approx 30x.
@sdz has explained beautifully how the allotment works in HNI category.

Hi
Can someone here explain how does 3rd party Asba works and its advantages.

I have 3 Dmat accounts linked with different PAN numbers of family members 3 corresponding bank accounts. Please mention optimized way for applying for IPO for better probability of IPO allocation.
400.1. KDKing🤴 |   Link |  Bookmark | July 15, 2021 6:00:16 PM
No any advantage of 3rd party asba,
People use this option if they could not apply for ipo from person bank account of demat holder of net banking or UPI facility is not available.

If your family members corresponding bank accounts NetBanking or UPI is working fine then apply from their accounts only.

If corresponding bank accounts NetBanking or UPI facility is not available then you can place 3rd party application from your working NetBanking.

I would suggest always use same person bank account of demat holder for applying an IPO.

Which bank offers net banking to minors with fund transfer facility? I am able to apply for IPO through SBI third party ASBA but not do delivery trade due to net banking facility not available in minor account. Please clarify.

Zomato employees are not confident and there is very poor response and HNI subscription is also very poor

Need to introspect worthiness of applying in zomato

First of all Delivery partners are not employees, this statement is so important. There are approx 3000 employees in zomato who are getting 65lakhs shares under employee category which translates to 50 crores. You’ll see this category also oversubscribed tomorrow.
398.7. Sleepy |   Link |  Bookmark | July 15, 2021 6:00:52 PM
There is a lock-in period for Zomato employees of 6 months. After 6 months they are required to take permission to sell there stocks. Also there is no special employees discount

Everytime, the anchor on CNBC TV18 asked Mr.Gaurav the question on profitability, he beats around the bush and talks only about capturing customers and order-metrics, and that Retail investors are more smart these days. No straight forward response on how it''ll be profitable, not even a statement assuring that their best efforts would be towards profitability ... the focus seems to be higher valuation..

It is just a shot in open air, expecting for something to happen, the probability of which the management is not confident of.

Only invest if one has so much surplus to invest and forget. I''m giving it a miss, as a salaried employee, I prefer more predictable bets.

#source: internet

- The IPO price band of Rs.72-76 implies market cap of Rs.55k-60k crores.
- When market is fully mature, it can trade at 25x MCap/EBITDA (looking at global peers), implying, an annual EBITDA expectation of Rs.2,500 Cr
- At an estimated Overhead cost of Rs.2k cr it implies Zomato needs to earn Rs.4.5k cr contribution profit annually at full scale.
- Contribution margin (CM) per order of Rs.20/- share (generally 5% of average order value - was Rs.16/ order for Q4 FY21
- At Rs.20 CM per order, Zomato will need 225 crores orders to generate that EBITDA
- For reference, they have done 40 crore orders in their best year FY20
- Assuming 40% market share for Zomato, it implies 560 crore food delivery orders per year across India
- this means 11 crores households (out of total 25 crores) or 45% of the country will need to order once a week, to reach this number !

Regards to whoever did this math !
