Current IPO allotment method is totally wrong nobody know that that will allot shares or not. But in past method if anybody apply 4 lots and in retail subscription 4 times and no shares were allotted that can clams for allotment.
You are partly right, partly not. In earlier system, those who had money to invest for multiple lots (say 2 lakhs) were getting assured allotment. But those who had money to invest only 1 or 2 lots, were not getting assured allotment. They had to rely on lottery where in chances of allotment were very slim. So in a way, Rich retail investor used to corner most of shares. SEBI, wanted to increase participation of retail so they introduced new system, wherein everyone will have equal chance. So a guy with 15K can also compete with 2 lac guy. PS: This was SEBI''s logic. Not mine. Nor do i judge it
Yes. I feel SEBI should make it transparent for the allotment of the shares in IPO. Or should updetails and the mechanism of how the shares are allotted.
Anky, process is pretty transparent and goes by well defined rules. Its just that people are ignorant about rules. To explain you in brief, bidding for more lots in single application will not give any advantage. Rather try putting more applications (in different name) of single lot.
Anky, that''s real hard luck. But still, process is lottery, so some amount of luck needed. As explained in my msg 521.1, for every 29 successful bidder, there were 98 unsuccessful one. So some disappointment bound to happen. But again, no point questioning SEBI or process.
Unfortunately you cannot complain becanothing wrong has happened. Allotment ratio is 29:127 (as posted by other boarders. So for 127 retail application, 29 got allotted and 98 did not got. Unfortunately you were in those 98. Anyways No. of shares applied (975 in your case) no longer play any big role in allotment in such blockbuster issues
Hi KJ, Congrats..you are so lucky..forget abt listing gains and all..we have applied thru 4 accounts, but didnt get any allotment. What are the Dmat accounts that you used and on which date did u apply? Is it ASBA or Non ASBA. ofcourse, these may not the criteria...just to know out of curiosity. Thanks.
I HAVE PURCHASED 3 APPLICATIONS OF VRL @ RS. 1350/= PER APPLICATION IN AHMEDABAD WHICH ARE REJECTED BY THE REGISTRAR. NOW MY BROKER IS SAYING THAT I AM ELEIGIBLE FOR APPX 14 SHARES PER REJECTED APPLICATION ON PROPORTIONATE BASIS WHICH IS 2:9. IF THE RUNNING PREMIUM OF RS. 80 IS CONSIDERED THAN AS PER MY BROKER I AM ELEIGIBILE TO RECEIVE RS. 1120(14*80) AND I AM LIABLE TO PAY RS. 1350/= PER APPLICATION. CAN IT BE CORRECT? MISTAKE OF THE SELLER TO PROVIDE VALID APPLICATION BUT COST OF RS.230/= PER APPLICATION TO BE BORNE BY ME? PLS. GUIDE
I applied for VRL 15 lots but didnt get any allotment. Can someone please tell me how the allotment is done for NII category? I heard it is easier to get allotment in NII? Does NII category also have same SEBI rule of only 1 lot per applicant? Request some IPO Guru to please explain....Thank you for your time.
Mike, seriously surprised at you applying for NII. Anyways, new changes in allotment rules were applicable only in retail. For NII still old method is followed. Coming to your application, you applied 15 lots. But NII got over subscribed by almost 250 times. So you hardly had any chance of getting allotment. You had better chance if you applied for Retail
THank you very much Mr. Bhatt, I could easily follow your instruction. I think, now these will automatically appear under de at allocation,on listing day.
