Inflation dynamics are going to change with the governments decision to cut tax on petrol and diesel along with some other steps. These steps include custom duty cut on iron and steel. FM's tweet also mentions export duty will be levied on some steel products. Tuesday will be interesting since Venus is a manufacturer and exporter of stainless steel pipes and tubes.

Export duty has been increased in following steel items. (Note i do not know how much if at all this list affects Venus)

This government is a money sucking group of individuals. Where they see opportunity they'll apply taxes. If tommorow more Indians get diabetic they'll just 4x the price of insulin. Such is the stupidity of Indian economy.

DA was stopped to cover up the cost of the covid vaccine. Such a stupid decision.
So profit went to medical conglomerates.

I have expressed my disagreement over new 14 lot allotment rule to sHNI earlier too, but some members have seeing it as a correct move as it is aimed to differentiate Retailer and HNIs, which is absolutely correct. But my concern is as many retailers who can manage 2 Lacs are also applying as sHNI and are facing the consequences. Anyway leave it as have already been discussed many times and I am told SEBI is "unofficially" and "might be" considering corrective steps to rectify " maybe possible" shortfalls including subscription manipulations. Manipulation & fake subscription will effect the IPOs, especially low - average subscribed IPOs. Prudent Advisory actual overall subscriptio in around 83% but issue has sailed through with helping hands of few. SEBI along with Investors is learning now but would have been better if all required ground work was done and informed better, before the implementation, unavailability of HNI sub-category wise subscription details is a silly example...

Rightly priced IPOs are not having any problem like Campus. Problem is with the aggressively priced IPOs, where promoters are managing to get the issues subscribed and after listing investors are trying to leave the counter with minimum loss.

yes you are right, new rule is affecting IPO listing,
but good IPOs will sail through, problem will come in average IPOs, so basically IPO honeymoon is over.
You have to choose wisely, otherwise loss will be more than profit.
I prefer old rules, as much of HNIs also not showing interest and subscription is decreasing so is GMP.

It will effect every IPO till dust settles or till some corrective steps are taken.

In excellent or good IPO, listing gain will come down from 50% to 25%. Just imagine Campus listing if we had old rules to current listing with new rule.. Even that is an effect in some ways. But loss is naturally visible more in poor/average IPOs. I hope companies will be careful in future on decided the issue price, making avery IPO as good one.

@ajnabidost... Yes allotment rules are strange now but the process is clear enough. Please read the process of allotment carefully.
If bhni portion is oversubscribed application wise, lucky applicants will get minimum lots ~14 by lottery. Seems you were not lucky ...

I didn't allotted in my 2 SHNI applications but allotted 1 lot in my retail application.
@Billion dollar: you did no mistake, its SEBI who did mistake.
@avenue: we need to accept paradeep upi mandate if we need hni allotment ;) :)

@niteen.. I applied 644 shares from 4 different account that's come under BHNI category (amount over 10 lakh). Here I got allotment in one account of 644 shares ( minimum). Since that category is oversubscribed by a good margin only one application among 4 got selected in lottery .. just like retail.
Hope it's clear to you.. or We have @lokes here .. he is best in that business.. He can simply the things in much easier way... :)

@niteen.. sorry I applied 3082 shares from 4 different ac and got 644 in one.
I already said I m not gud in this ... It's @Lokes cup of tea.. I really admire him the way he explain and clearify the things to others members and newbee .. I did it wrong in first attempt.. :(

@noorul: By mistake, you mentioned applied 644 shares, it is 3082 shares for minimum bhni category application, or may be you applied 4 shni category by mistake if you applied 644 shares in all applications.
And Regarding PP, i will surely accept retail application upi mandate and will think/decide for shni application by tomorrow morning.
@nineteen: since this bhni category is oversubscribed application wise so everyone is allotted minimum allotment of 14 lots only via lottery, same like in retail category, in case of oversubscription application wise, everyone is allotted minimum allotment of 1 lot.

@MRavi. No allotment for me for my 69 lots/3174 shares application under BHNI. Actually, 67 lots are enough to apply under BHNI. But I added 2 more lots in my application to find out whether my lots will be shown individually or in grouping or missing altogether in the BoA. Congratulations to you for allotment for your 68 lots application (i.e. 67 +1). However, pity for your 0/37536. Penny wise Pound foolish in the eyes of SEBI.

@Lokes.. My luck has also not understood new rules completely and only permits HNI allotment in riskier IPOs like Rainbow/PP and not safer ones like venus... :)
Many unsuccessful applicants here may accept PP mandates now in revenge...

@avenue. About listing price ... Good thing market bounce back strongly today . If it's remain like this I am expecting atleast 10-15% listing gain.. you can also buy on listing in that range.. company is good fundamentally and valuation vise.

My wrong decision of applying 4 SHNI in Rainbow and worse luck to get all somewhat restricted me in applying all four in Venus. Had I applied 2 in Rainbow, would have applied all 4 in Venus. More than the loss I was concerned about miss-calculations I did and wanted to understand and correct for future.
Any cursing luck was on a lighter note. I don't mind it at all. Those days of 50-100% listing profit are gone as of now and I am seriously considering an experiment of buying at listing/post listing. Market has stabilized as of now but it will take few days more to really confirm that worst is over. Moreover I think there are many other things apart from market jerks, that are affecting the behaviour of current IPOs.

@noorul: i am also allotted 1 lot in retail at least like K.atar and dinesh, happy with that :) and i don't see most people cursing their luck, mostly are just informing their allotments....And no idea for others, but for me, i didn't had funds too to apply in venus in multiple BHNI accounts since i wanted to apply 2 BHNI in paradeep that time and i was investing in secondary markets too else i would have applied in 1 BHNI and 1 SHNI in venus....

@avenue: Agree with your points....the thing is we have to rely on luck only now due to this minimum allotment thing since we may be OK with 14 lots but suppose if applying so many multiple applications in shni or bhni and allotted 2/3/4 applications and then due to any reason, if share goes down 5-10% then that would be a big risk, so instead of blind play, better to look for after listing too and try applying in ipos as per some surety of profit and risk etc. yes luck is needed very much to get allotment in 1 hni application only and not multiple, in most ipos but that's not in our hand to control, something like campus can be applied/allotted as many as possible.

I am never comfortable on phone and was already preoccupied to decide on accepting PP mandate.

@Lokes... Since you use Zerodha, how much they charge while buying and selling shares. Is it on value or lumpsum on transaction???

I tend to buy 2 shares of any company just for testing, 10 times, making a total purchase of 20 shares and sell them in 2 lots of 10 each.
