Good question but it was valid in star health insurance too which crossed 940 on listing day for 900 rs issue price with much bad subscriptions than this.
And sentiments changes with time and as that listing time market and share price movement, so if some retail/HNI is not buying now in ipo, it doesn't mean they will not buy after listing. Many retailers who didn't bought adani at lesser price in preopen seeing poor demand/response, have bought it after listing at higher prices.
And since QIB demand is more than 7 times, so they may come to buy on listing and may take it higher as they all won't be allotted in ipo.

What lokes is telling is correct. I invested heavily in Vedant expecting a nice pop up considering oversubscription in QIB category and nice margins for the company. I simply thought if loss-making Go Colors can list at hefty premium, why not this profit making company. But fingers crossed. I may lose also. Just took a punt.

@abias: ya i have applied via zerodha upi here after 4pm, only after seeing good demand from QIB. I have applied 13 lots each from 2 different retail applications and i will accept mandate for 1 application now, i just applied two applications so that in case if any issues comes in accepting mandate in one then i can use other.
Since QIB subscription is good enough and HNI/retail is lesser so selling pressure shouldn't be there much. But i will keep some strict stoploss here to avoid bigger loss in case things wont work as expected. I don't apply in HNI where company is not great but i take risk in retail with 1-2 lots sometimes in avg. ipo's also. First time i applied 13 lots here.

@lokes you're right regarding selling pressure as I see shares with retail and HNI/NII are ~4 to 5% only on listing.with 95% of float with domestic and foreign institutions along with promotors I expect more demand on listing day and surprise listing on the higher side (assuming many who applied in retail/hni are with strong hands even though issue is overpriced).Hope our risk pays well.Thanks for sharing your insights.much appreciated.

The difference in Star Health and Vedant is that retail portion was better subscribed Star while retail has not subscribed to Vedant
Yes One QIB can buy from another or mood can change. However feeling about high price of Vedant can not go that early. As there will hardly be any additional information change from now to listing day. You may be willing to accept 10% price loss for one lot but would you book 10% loss in 13 lot is different question. This is interesting case of investor psychology. It is not Gland or Craftsman where reason for non retail subscription were price related only

My gut feeling came correct. Had applied for 221+119 = 340 shares. Sold all @ 950 stop loss. Not sure of future business prospects.

bhai everyone cant access bazaar like you for buying/selling in grey and that might has more headache of any fraud/trust etc for new people. And there is no costing etc while applying from bank since interest will be given on blocked funds. only 4 days costing when money will deduct till listing, thats very very nominal thing.

Greetings @Ramsan! We did not participate in GoColors' IPO and the stock has never found a part in our portfolio (it most likely never will), much similar to Vedant Fashions where we don't find any merit for an investment. If the company is virtually debt free, why the need to raise money through sale of equity? Why not debt? If the company is performing so well and the business is sustainably robust, why the need for OFS and this is a big why? Their business is wrong on so many levels that an entire white paper can be published on it but more than anything else, we are most certainly clear on not funding the exit of the promoter group and shoulder the burden of their failures at our expense. We are more than willing to bet on Virat Kohli playing better cricket than he trying to sell us Kurta Pyjamas. If QIBs are keen on it, let them be, like they were in a lot many others before where retail investors have lost their hard earned money.

it will no use, it just amounts blocked and unblock for you,

U should never apply at lovers bid. Market will never understand love . It only cares about money

if it's under subscribed (which is the status right now Retail 0.36), you will get allotment at lower values as well

It does not work like that. There is more than 100 percent demand at highest price (segments don't matter)

If not subscribed overall then lower band comes into play
