Hi..yes you can use the FD amount for mostly IPO purpose...the process is.first open OD/CC account against your FD.the limit is different in banks like 80%,70%,and so on...after open both account transfer the fund as per requirement in saving account ..use in IPO for 10 to 15 days,after using funds again transfer in OD/CC account bcoz bank is charging interest per day +1% of u r FD interest rate.thts the way v r using from the last 17years...before v directly use the fund from OD account but after sebi guidelines v can't use OD accounts directly.

Premature payment of FD attracts 1% penalty on applicable int.rate.i.e.Fd actual lying with bank.For Example, if your FD lying with bank for 90days,then int.rate for 90 days at the time of depositing FD,less 1%.

Linked fd in icici and another bank i dont remember.
Since i have account with icici.
Your fd get linked to your account.
So your available balance become main balance + linked balance.
Regular fd can get linked to your account thats it. Just talk to the executive in icici bank.
By link fd logic i dont have to transfer money from od to saving account.
All i have to check is fd should not break, i maintain 2 lakh free float of money rest fd, since you can't get more allotment then that anyway.

Yes, you can apply for an IPO using linked FD. In ICICI bank it is called Money Multiplier.
Just create MM FD and apply for IPO.

Yes Bank also provide such facility..

But if you get allotment then the FD breaks and yes there is penalty. Penalty is very small compared to the gain you wil make in IPOs, not all IPOs though, so choose your IPOs carefully, read other members recommendations and apply..

@Kpchn no HDFC doesn't have this facility..you have to go via OD route

any idea on SBI? Does SBI also provide any option like FD withdraw for IPO?

@manojIPO SBI does not have this facility..
if you apply using FD then FD breaks immediately... i have tried it.

Third party application sebi ne ban kardi he par kuch bank ne apne server and app me update nahi Kiya he isliye third party application ho Rahi he . IPO registrar mostly ye application reject kardeta he lekin kabhi kabhi usme bhi allotment mil jati he 🙃 but this glitch will be fixed in near future and sebi bank ko penalty lagayegi .

ASBA facility nahi hai ab tk bandhan Bank me
