Is it mandatory to have a demat account for applying an IPO? I have mine but I want all my family members apply against their PAN. They may open a demat later, while redeeming, if required. Pls help!
Dear Mr Khemaka, May be you are right. But I am sure it will be at least 3.5 times, Thanks.

Vodafone gears up for Rs 16,500-cr IPO, names bankers Vodafone, the country’s second largest mobile operator, has appointed six bankers to raise about $2.5 billion (Rs 16,500 crore) through an initial public offering this year, which could well make it the country’s largest IPO in rupee terms.
Sources said Deutsche Bank, HSBC and ICICI Securities would be the book-running lead managers while Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofAML), UBS and Kotak Securities would be the global coordinators for the offering.
“It is expected to be a combination of offer-for-sale and issuance of fresh equity,†said an investment banker aware of the development. “The issue is targeted for the last quarter of 2016,†he added. The parent will dilute about 10 per cent of its equity in Vodafone India.
In 2010, Coal India had raised Rs 15,199 crore in the primary market, which was the largest issue in the country.
The names for the bankers were finalised after pitches in London early last week, also by Goldman Sachs, Citi and Axis Bank. The IPO is expected to bring handsome fees for the selected banks at a time when billion-dollar listings have become scarce.
Vodafone plans to use the proceeds to buy additional spectrum and further expand its operations across India’s crowded telecom market led by Bharti Airtel.
New player Reliance Jio is also expected to launch its 4G services this year.
Vodafone India’s listing has been awaited since it first spoke about it in 2011. “The IPO is expected at over $20 billion valuation for Vodafone India,†said another investment banker familiar with the plans. Bharti Airtel had a market value of Rs 1.45 lakh core ($21.9 billion) on Friday.
Vodafone entered India in 2007 when it acquired a majority stake in Hutchison Essar, a deal that cast it in a dispute with the tax authorities. It is not clear if an IPO will help in resolving tax cases filed against the company in Indian courts and one that is in arbitration in London.
Vodafone Group has a wholly-owned subsidiary Vodafone India since 2014 after 100 per cent foreign direct investment was allowed in telecom. This also brought down its need for an IPO. Marten Pieters, former chief executive officer at Vodafone India, was disappointed that he could not come out with the company’s IPO due to tax disputes.
The Indian market has over a billion mobile subscribers and the potential for data use is one of the highest in the world. Mobile phone operators have been spending heavily in setting up fourth-generation (4G) mobile broadband data networks to meet expected demand.
I am new to ipo can i apply in 4 Different demate account of my and my 3 friends from a single AXIS BANK saving account through ASBA. will it be accepted or rejected my applications
2. They (couple) have to sort it out, not with the help of their friends or relatives but with the help of professional counselor. Reason being - freinds/relatives may take this as a vantage point and unknowingly will provide bad solutions that is advantageous for themselves. It wont do good to the family.
3. She may accept the relationship with the third party. Taking it easy or not is in her hands. I m not wishing her to be daring like "3 on a bed" but she has to find out reasons why he is going to another woman. She has to present herself more attractive, appealing, and take good care of herself and also should find out if any love/care is missing on her side. He is interested in the other woman because something is there in her which is not there in the wife. I have seen 2 sisters living with a same man (he was my hindi tuition master). The second sister came into the relationship after first marriage.
4. They SHOULD NOT discuss these in front of kids, and kids'' future should not be affected because of this issue even 1%.
5. If point number 3 is not possible, and she feels the heat inside, she may immediately seek separation legally or live separately.
From your point of View: 1. Ask her not to bring home issues to office. No use of involving family matters in office, because "office experts" are not "family relationship experts." For example a Bill gate kind of person cannot go and do painting kind of job. The painting will look like some one scribbled. Both are experts in different fields.
2. Do not tell her office mates about this, they will create more confusion and she will be "labeled" a "stranded category woman" behind her back, by her office colleagues. This will again stress her too much. Adding to home tension and office tension, its like adding oil to fire. Had she been a valuable staff asset for you, it will ultimately result in you losing the staff.
3. Ask her to work with full dedication and concentration @ office.
From general point of view: 1. All have stress in life. We need to keep going, not should get stuck anywhere due to any problem. Money alone is not life, work alone is not life, marriage alone is not life. We should do some duty to ourself like having some physical activity pastime, games, painting etc. rather than watching TV etc. Just few stress busters to keep life in equilibrium.
You''re a big shot guy, just wrote what I know, sorry if u did not like my msg.
Yes possible. Noww a days most of banks are CBS (Centralalized banking system) connected. No limitations, but if it exceeds 50 k or some other amount(donno exactly) they may ask for the PAN. some may also ask the purpose why you depositing.
CBS is Core Banking Solution (CBS) is networking of branches, which enables Customers to operate their accounts, and avail banking services from any branch of the Bank on CBS network, regardless of where he maintains his account. The customer is no more the customer of a Branch. He becomes the Bank’s Customer. Thus CBS is a step towards enhancing customer convenience through Anywhere and Anytime Banking.
Dear Shivajee, Thanks for your replies. I think there is little misunderstanding. Here I (customer) do not want to make cash deposit but a third party (my friend) wants to make cash deposit from non home branch.
1. Non-home branch is a branch meaning a branch apart from where your account is registered. It can be "anywhere" as defined in BOB link. It can be in another city also. For example, I used to buy some machine parts by depositing cash from my city to a person in another CITY IN ANOTHER state (Maharashtra). I will deposit money into his account by filling up "pay-in slip" in a branch in MY CITY. This system has come into effect very long back.
2. You can also transfer money to any bank account, anywhere in india, at any time using a third party like "Itzcash" outlets. They might charge something, not sure. Your friend doesn''t has to have a bank account at all in this mode.
Septaji if u have credit balance on your FD Od account then only you can place ipo .... Right now i had debit balance and j wasnt allowed by Hdfc to place ipo
I think it is senseless for a Bank to insist on credit balance in excess of our OD/Credit limit amount. What is required is availability of funds when shares are allotted, whether it is available from OD/Credit limit amount or Excess funds. I think we should study and know the exact rules as different banks are acting differently.
UJJIVAN KA Day 2 subscription QIB 0.63X NII 0.33X RII 1.21X Total 0.86X Forms 1,88,350 (approx) Eagleyeji ne bataya hai. Mera saval yah hai ki ye figure friday ke hai. to saturday ka kya? As it is 5th sat.banks are working to IPO applications bhi liya gaya hoga. so 3rd days figure nse pe kyo nahi bataya gaya .May be because on saturday NSE is not working. I just wants to say that Monday is the last day. but we don''''t no the actual figure of subscription before last day. So it may be that it will over subscribe more than we ( or eagleyeji) expect .
