In a lottery only luck favors. So keep applying without any expectations. To increase chances, try with multiple accounts (family, friends, etc).
If u just need a feel of getting an IPO (irrespective of losses), try applying in Star insurance, subscription numbers are expected to be low, hence chance of allotment will be very high.

If you are applying from only one account. It is difficult to get allotment in retail. Try to get few more accounts from family member. It will increase the probability. There is no trick. Always apply in cutoff price and check if application was valid when allotment is out.

Can somebody explain creating 5 applications from a same bank account? How is it possible?
I am planning to open a bank account where I can get 5 applications.
But no idea on how I will be able to create 5 applications from a single account.
Is it by a joint account with 5 account holders?
Kindly explain me the process.

You need to have 5 different Demat accounts.
SBI ASBA allows 5 applications from single, Bank account.
Map these 5 demats in your SBI ASBA. Now apply in all 5 demat accounts.
