Yes, It''ll be certainly counted as income. As long as earnings are below IT reporting limits (and TDS is not deducted) you don''t need to pay taxes and it''s not mandatory to file ITR as well. Just advice, always file Tax-Return (even if that''s NIL). I''ll explain why?? Let''s say she continues to earn 80K per Year for 10 Years and she has 8-10 Lacs in her account, it''ll be really easy to explain the sources. You build legal capital while filing Taxes every year(even NIL taxes) and it helps in the long term.
BTW Person is a housewife (actually Homemaker) or DIrector, It doesn''t matter. Income is Income !

I have applied for so many IPO through ICICI and ASBA also. But till i did not get any stock allotted. I do not know the reason. The it will be lottery for allotting shares. Pl. confirm what is the right way to apply IPO
