fpo will be unattractive if upper band comes to 600 or more...
tatas are trying to cash in on the fpo before stock takes some serious beating........
coke prices are record high so margin of steel manufacturing co will take a nosedive even if the co has own mines for example SAIL's result, due to higher coke prices demand for steel will be less as prices may moov up for finished stock......
nifty below 5700 tata steel must be trading below 600!!!, its last six month high and lows are 448 and 680 levels, the stock was available @ 602 around 5-9 december....
i dont know whether any discount is there for retail investor.....
yes i agree promoters are the one who gains most in an ipo/fpo nowadays they try their best to take out the whole juice but the market is even smarter it finds it way to find some juice or sometime punishes those greedy promoters by failing thier ipo/fpo.
u r talking about junk operated ipo, these are ultimately stays in retail investor's deemat for years, the operator gifts them to retail ipo investor who do not exit or to retail intra day traders . i never invest in this kind of ipo from begining of my stock career.
we are not united or have will to take these ipo problems ro sebi, more than that they will not listen there are many retail investor group who works for the problem of retail investor but i have seen them only fighting for buy back and right issue not ipo/fpo related issue
its good to hear that u r in market from the year i born andu made money, there are many people who cry that they lost money , happy to hear ur experience in market
hai gem, ipofinder, ravi banglore, sj(setu),sreedhar and other esteemed borders,
may i ask one question to all knowledgeable person, i have been into the market since 1983 (ORKAY Ind.) and benefitted a lot. since last many years when price band of public issue announced, who gains? Only promoters of companies, Lead Managers, Registrar etc. and biggest loser is public only.
only fools invested and stay invested in these kinds of public issue like Midvalley, sekhavati, c mahendra, I do not know who applies in this kinds of public issues, I wonder when u see all the data since 2005, mind U as per my observation 9 out of 10 issues is still trading below their issue price, (however, listing price may show some degree of profits)
One thing I am not sure once the public float IPO is done and shares issued to public, 1. Who holds these junks of share because like other all issues are trading at discount (barring few). 2. Listing price is generally good or at premium, who is at loss (wonders who invests at exorbitant prince of IPO).
My question to all esteemed borders plese take the matter with SEBI and show all the data where almost every IPO has resulted in huge loss, why do not go to previous CCI (Controller of Capital Issue) era where public issues are issued at steep discount/fair value.
any comments in this regard is welcome..............
gem, 580-595 seems to me reasonable. so that we might have something on the table. But in this bad market, we never know what will happen. May be on monday itself we will get tata steel for 580.
