After hearing news that ipo is coming was very excited but as time was passing nerves calm down, still believe that it will not list in discount. But there are lot of other options, now utilising them.

As retail portion is subscribed more than 5 times, again it's a lottery. Bank issue is never so exciting.
But exceptions are always there.

@Downwrite… you forgot about full equation, investing is atleast ok when High Risk and High Return but here High risk and low/no return. So I’m my view no point in considering risk here

1. How market values the bank now after knowing that Anchor investors did not bid at upper price band is unknown (this info is not priced in the issue price)
2. Legal cases (already priced in the issue price…but their outcome in future will affect price only in longterm)
3. Very low GMP (shows low enthusiasm in the IPO)

Based on our investigation we found that there is an exception scenario in which few people using 3rd Party Bank Account are getting allotment in an IPO. Please read our below analysis of this issue:

Why do a few 3rd Party UPI IPO applications get an allotment?

@team chittorgarh: Information given by you in above link can't be correct in my view. First of all, that is not even considered as third party application what is mentioned here in above link, like below lines:

"Once the public issue closes, the exchange sends the IPO application file to all the banks to take the confirmation that the bank account linked in the demat account is the same used in the IPO application."

Bank account linked in the demat need not to be same as used in the ipo application. We can have any bank account link to our demat and we can apply ASBA application from our other bank account too using that demat details.
Name is the thing which should be used to decide third party applications, name in demat account and bank account should be same.
so everywhere in your link, it should be bank name instead of account no. i think else there are lakh of users who has multiple bank accounts and their demat account is linked with one bank and applying ipo from their own other bank.

Let me share my experience.

As per my understanding , all private banks are rejecting 3rd party app. In the previous overwhelmed IPOs I tried it with kotak bank but this bank is very strict in 3rd party apps. Even registrar had given me the reason of rejecting in their mail. In that IPO I checked other forum members' posts. Somebody posted RBL bank rejected. Axis bank was allowing earlier but now not. Those who got 3rd party allotment I asked them which bank ? Most of them replied SBI , few replied BoB. These are the most buzy PSU banks. So the conclusion is this these PSU banks lazy employees are not sharing details which they were asked for. And the benefit of doubt is being given.

One more thing , my bank account name is as per aadhar and demat as per PAN. Name has nothing to do. Only bank PAN details matter with demat PAN.

@svh: that somebody posted for rbl bank was me, when it was rejected in some recent sme ipo and it shown reason as third party application but i was allotted in same rbl bank (my wife bank account) in paradeep ipo in third party (for my daughter demat) too where subscription was less. And Kotak bank has no option to allow for third party application.
Third party application means different person demat account with different person asba/upi bank account. And so both pan and indirectly name will also be different. If PAN is same in both bank and demat then i think that may not be considered as a third party application even if name is not similar in demat and bank like in your case and in case of minor account too.
Anyways for you its better to correct your name in aadhaar or PAN to make it same else you may be facing issues later.

For example, in my savings a/c, i m first while my wife is 2nd holder. Can we both applly from same savings a/c (demat a/c are differnt of both), or my wife applucatuon will be considered 3rd party application?

I would like to ask you to provide information on How lottery process actually works for allotment.

Some thinks, it's kind of selection is based on fixed serial number in excel kind lists, some thinks it's a software randomised selection, like this many theories in discussions... Please share some Idea on this if possible.

We did double-check with the registrar regarding this and they did confirm with confidence. I asked for the circular details and will share them here soon. We are also checking the regulations.

It's doubtful whether the authorities involved in allotment are checking this or not. They are not ready to share the number of such cases. It raises the flag.

As per the registrar, the primary bank account holder is considered for validation.

One can apply in any Ipo from any Bank account of his own with same name and PAN which is in Demat account. Till this time it is not third party. When allotment is done, the shares are credited in Demat account. When the shares are sold now the situation comes that amount of sold shares will be credited in the Bank account which is linked with ones Demat account.
Your amount will never be credited from the account which is debited.
Third party application experience is different with different person.
Actually rules are not followed strictly, whatever reason it may be.

It is absolutely right that each investor can have several bank accounts and also several Demat accounts with same individual PAN numbers. Precisely for this reason banks earlier provided linking up to 5 Demat accounts of individual accountholder wherein Demat accounts were opened with different agencies. However , this was being abused by linking a 3rd party Demat instead. This is now plugged making banks responsible where in most banks automatically populate with account's first holder's PAN number in application regardless of the linking.

Those banks who have not updated software will also follow suit as they will be imposed penalty later if and whenever found permitting any 3rd party application.

Since the entire pivot is on PAN number of first account holder , joint account holder (2nd) can not apply from an account and can be treated as 3rd party. However , if joint account holder (2nd) applies with his own Demat account , it should be accepted as PAN matches. One can try this and see . Legally joint account is only for operations and not for any other standing generally.

@lokes, In kotak I tried with 3rd party UPI. Of course 3rd party ASBA option is not there. Earlier in 3rd party ASBA I tried with axis , corporation , BoI , central bank. I was allotted in axis and corporation. Boi never allotted. Axis now not allowing. Today only two banks are left which allow 3rd party ASBA. SBI app & PNR NB.

I changed name sequence in aadhar but it's ok still I am allotted as PAN details are matching with bank & demat in allotment process.

Sometime in July 2022, SEBI came out with a circular shifting responsibility from registrars and exchanges on banks of ensuring that IPO applicant uses own bank account for Demat . I shared this BSE circular around this time when several on this board expressed of banks removing the option for 3rd party. Circular also provided a format that will be sent with applications file from exchange to banks to verify and certify that funds are from same PAN number as in Demat and application. Later this data will also flow to IT dept form this year as part of AIS ( Annual Information) Naturally banks now need to reduce their burden by simply making the software in a manner that no other Demat with another PAN can be linked as origin itself so verification becomes just a formality.

Allotment process is totally fair as it is in consultation with designated stock exchange. It doesn't make any difference whether demat is with NSDL OR CDSL.

I remember Lokes mentioning that we cannot use same UPI ID twice. I'm not sure if that is the reason for not allocation. i would suggest to use your Bank ASBA when you are applying IPOs from minor account.

Create an UPI on your kid's account using gpay and use her UPI for applying IPO.

@suneel - I am using it only once. In my case I am using ASBA to apply for me.
@NarenGoud- For creating UPI debit card is required in gpay, since bank is providing limited transactions rights there is no online banking (ASBA) and debit card provided to me.
Can you guys suggest which bank provides internet banking (ASBA and debit card) for minor account.

if you are using gpay, you can add your kid savings account under Settings->Payment methods and create an UPI id under Payment methods->Account->Manage UPI IDs.

I have my savings account and my kids minor account with Kotak. Kotak is not providing ASBA option on minor account so I have created UPI ID in Gpay and using her UPI ID for IPO.

@NarenGour. Brother kotak allows ASBA application from minor account. You have to register ASBA beneficiary from bank branch and then can apply for ipo through ASBA MODE
