Grey profit can be higher than price sold at. As one can always square it off with negative grey price buying (if it comes) which in turn can further boost profit. So this is the reason that your final profit is not known at the moment

He has sold off all his applications. Hence, he has already made a gain in respect of that transaction.

In case, he square up the Grey Market transaction, the square up price would be his cost of acquisition afresh, and this amounts another transaction for all practical purposes. This will have nothing to do with initial transaction, in which gain already known.

However, Grey Market transaction hardly comes on record.
