Remember that from promoters perspective their IPO is successful if they are able to 1X subscription at the price what they have been expecting.
And if minimum QIB subscription required is achieved, the IPO will be deemed to be complete and successful.
IPO is not a charity provided by promoters where they undervalue their company and lower the price of their shares in IPO just to ensure exorbitant gains to new investors in their company.
Current stupendous gains from some of the IPO will not sustain for future IPO and it is futile to consider IPO as the means for sure shot listing gains. Whether we want to accept it or not....each and every IPO cannot give >20% return from one week investment.....so it is time each one of us temper their expectations and be reasonable in their expectations and decide rationally about investing in IPOs and stop blaming companies and other people for everything.
So true. Any listing gain less than 50-60% is being considered as a loss i guess. People forget that it''s just a week that they''re investing - and technically speaking, money is with them for that 1 week too so they''re earning their usual interest as well.
Agree, no point running after short term gains which are not there. People need to remember there would only be 5-8 IPO''s in an year which will give you a 50-70% premium on listing. One should only invest if they believe in keeping the stock for long time.
Agree... it is all speculation. What you see on the listing date is what you get in real life so if someone gets an allotment, no point bothering on the GMP
