@jstm, when does HNI bidding close. I apply through kotak securities & bidding close sharp at 3PM. But I see HNI live subscription figures increasing till 4-5 pm. Is it due to late data entry or some allow HNI bidding till late. (Here in Sigachi also, it was 144x at 3pm, but still figures increased to 171x at 4pm).

jstm is right. after cut off time HNI not possible in ICICI direct (03:30 pm, if remember correctly), that''s why he suggested to go with retail application

you could have definitely applied all 50 lots in HNI in sigachi.....no point in applying in retail. No idea why @jstm told 15 lots when u have funds available for 50 lots and if you could have applied in HNI till 4pm.

Replied very quickly to him as per circumstance so slipped between 15 & 50.

Else ya i also applied in retail too for other applications, off course we all applied in retail too, no matter how much times it will go in retail, someone still be having a chance ;) :)

And ya obviously i took into consideration that he has to apply only one application using those 50 lots....

Forget to reply in hurry.
HNI application counting lasts till 4:00 PM. only. ( QIB & NII )
And retail application ( RII ) cut-off time is 5 pm.
Subscription numbers goes on increasing because that numbers are not real time numbers. For eg : if you apply at 6 pm on 2nd day , that will be count on 3rd day. You can verify from your bank also. If at the time of applying status shows '' bid accepted by bank '' means pending at exchange & if it shows '' bid accepted by exchange '' means application submitted by bank to exchange.

If person has capacity to apply 50 lots, & if RII subscription is 80x & NII subscription is 172x as in Sigachi, I think chances to get one lot alloted are more in applying in RII (1-18 lots any), rather than applying in NII (50 lots or any upto 170 lots), is that correct. (Sorry for my noob suggestion but posted just to verify it).

From your above post I assume you are holding account in kotak bank. Kotak and SBI provides cut-off time 1 hour less than other banks on last day. I advise you to open account in some other bank so that you can bid ASBA at last moment.

50/170= 30 % chance of allotting 1 lot in HNI.
1/80 = 1.25% chance of allottment in RII.
So 50 lots increases more chance of allottment of getting 1 lot.

the person who can apply 50 lots, is poor... hummmmm....

If 50/170=1/170 , then who will apply in HNI and unnecessarily block higher amount. It''s better to choose 1/80 ratio than 1/170 & that too with lower amount blocked.Those who apply more lots have higher chance of allotment in HNI untill allotment ratio is < 1:1. Hypothetically If you had applied 172 lots your allotment chance could be 1:1. i.e. 1 lot confirm. You can see these allotment ratios in BoA. Kindly check past IPOs BoA to get idea.

Thanks 4 replying, but as far as I know,if you applied for fewer lots than the number of times issue oversubscribed, a lottery is drawn for one lot allotment. For example, if the IPO is subscribed 100 times in NII and an HNI applied for 90 lots, the allotment is done by lottery and in that case you will be alloted 1 lot irrespective of no of lots you applied in NII category. So,how 1/80 is not equal to 1/170 here since 50 is less than 172 in NII ? Am I missing something,can u plzc clarify,may be I dont know properly,

@jstm: looks you mis-understood samjos query from his first message, let me explain again and ask again since i also wanted to know this.

samjos in its inital message informed he has kotak securities which allows till 3pm not kotak bank and he was asking that after 3pm also, HNI numbers keep increasing which we guys know that its upto 4pm.
so here main question is which bank/broker allows to apply for ipo till 4pm in HNI category ?? so whatever you replied to samjos is different thing.
Many times i had put up this question in past but couldn''t got proper response , i searched on internet also but couldn''t found much.
Most of the demat/banks allows till 3pm in HNI category, some banks/brokers allows till 4pm in retail i know but in HNI, who allows till 4pm, how these other HNI''s are able to apply till 4pm ?
@jstm or anyone, if aware about this, please reply.

@samjos: you cant simply tell your banker/broker to accept your application till 3.50pm , its their cut off time which is pre-decided for all :)

@sbipo: Let me try to explain it for you and others. Hope many people will see it and understand it.

Take an example for all below calculations where suppose an ipo in HNI is subscribed 100 times finally :
Then whoever applies for 100 lot will get 1 lot for sure and then whoever applies for more than 100 lots will get extra shares in proportionate to further lots applied.
And if someone applies for lesser lots, then chances are percentage wise in comparison to total subscription. it will be a lottery but not a pure lottery.
one more thing comes into picture here is how many people are applying for those number of lots.
for example, if someone applying 50 lots, then chances are 50% means 1 out of 2 , so if 10 people has applied 50 lots then 5 people will get 1 lot and a lottery will happen from those 10 people to choose 5 people.
Similarly, if someone applying 90 lots, then chances are 90% , now suppose 20 people applied for 90 lots, then 18 people will be alloted 1 lot and a lottery will happen from those 20 people to choose 18 people.
Similarly if someone applies 20 lots then chances are 20% , now suppose 50 people applied for 20 lots, then 10 people will be alloted 1 lot and a lottery will happen from those 50 people to choose 10 people.

I have already explained very well this HNI allotment thing in other ipo forums and had good discussions on this. I wish @ADMIN can also add some example lines as i gave above, explaining allotment for lower bidding than subscription in HNI, in below link, other than just mentioning lottery, same like he gave some example lines for higher bidder, so that we can give this link to everyone and people can read and understand easily.

One zomato example is there in above link, where first entry is for lesser bidder. Final HNI subscription in zomato was 34.2 times. So if someone who applied 14 lots then chances are approx 41% , and 2185 people applied for 14 lots, so 893 people (41%) will be alloted 1 lot (195 shares) and a lottery was done from those 2185 people to choose those 893 people as mentioned there in allotment ratio in first entry.

Thw reason why HNI applications keep on increasing after the cutoff time is that many HNIs give a MANUAL form with an ASBA Mandate. It should just be received by the processing authority ( registrar / lead manager maybe) before the cutoff time.

The reason I know this is that a fellow HNI was going to be out of town and he doesn''t apply online. He calls and places his orders. Since he would be unreachable, he was furnished with this form by his broker... It was printed with all the details pre filled.

@M.K : HNI cut off time is 4pm. So you mean mostly banks/brokers provides time till 3pm only, and then after that, HNI subscription increase is due to offline forms only and due to some bids executed on exchange after 3pm which are applied before 3pm as @jstm said. Means no bank/broker provide online hni application till 4pm ? Btw Happy diwali to you :)

@jstm & @lokes, great thanks for the explanation about HNI subscription. However I know some HDFC & AU Bank people, & let you all know if any extra information.
Even greater thanks for how allotment is done, I now clearly understand that it is better to apply in HNI if self funds available, even though fund is less than HNI overdubscription figure, rather than apply one lot in RII.
Regarding HNI cost, how interest rate is 7 or 8 or 9%? If fund is lying in your savings a/c in asba while hni application done, you keep earning interest at savings bank interest rate.
So if you take finance from NBFC, money will be blocked in your account but will be in your a/c only, earning savings ac interest. So if NBFC is providing finance at 8%, minus savings ac interest rate which range from 3.5% (hdfc) to 7% (au bank), so net interest rate on finance will be 1-5.5%, am I right? (I still don''t know full form of FF, so noob of me).

As far as I know,FF means Full Force perhaps,experts can correct me if wrong.
Regarding ASBA, r u sure we earn savings bank interest rate if fund is lying in our savings a/c in asba while hni application done? I don''t know actually,that''s why asking.

@SamJos if you take funding from NBFC, they will create a joint current account and hence you won''t get any interest.. you will have to pay at 7 or 8 or 9% or even 13% like in case of Nykaa..

Now I have 2 small accounts where i can apply for 40 and 30 lots. I initially planned to apply in PB with them. Now seeing HNI figures of PB I am confused...

i wanted to increase my lot size in sigachi application after arranging some funds, but its not working in idfc first bank.....option to modify bid is there, but after going inside that, its same new application and my bid is considering new and saying insufficient balance, not sure if bank people or any user has tested or not this bid modification in HNI in idfc first bank, first time i was trying it.

@avenue: good decision if PB disappoints in listing.....and it will be proved very good decision if any one of your 43 and 30 lot application in sigachi will fetch you 1 lot , do let us know after allotment :)
only if PB lists with around 5-10% gains or more and your 43/40 lot application in sigachi doesnt fetch you a lot, then only that blocked money wont fetch any returns. Lets see....you played safe still.
I just tried with 35 lots in PB, took little risk and remaining in sigachi, hope i will get 1 lot in sigachi, that i will come to know after 4pm :)

I am new to the investing and IPO in general, have some experience in the retail category. I have been following the forums for quiet some time here.
As I read your message above, 200/300 lots so that will amount to around 30 lacs to 45 lacs. So the person will be in HNI category, am I right? And will be putting this much amount in the single IPO?

Also @avanue Sir you have applied 200 lots, does that mean from one account or multiple accounts?

Same for you @jstm Sir, could you please explain a little bit more why you have applied for 350 lots. The reason behind it?

Sorry for the basic questions, I am just consuming this and sometimes not able to comprehend.

yes, whatever you mentioned is right and all these are HNI applications and are from single account (single application) from everyone for this much amount.
This is to get confirmed allotment, since in HNI category, if you apply for more lots than its subscribed then you will confirm get 1 lots and in proportional for further lots and if you apply for lesser lots than final hni subscription figure, then it will go to lottery but since no one is knowing final HNI subscription figure by 2 or 3pm so everyone applies as per subscription estimates to get 1 confirmed lot or as per money they have and can apply in ipo.

@M.K : i know about hni applications. As per sebi rule, we cant delete hni application and in modify , we can edit them towards upside, means we can only increase the bid but cant decrease.
And soon after applying, we can delete also hni application until executed on exchange, i have tried that in RBL bank and it was deleted and amount was unblocked. But we cant delete after its executed/submitted on exchange.
Regarding modification, that option also comes after bid is submitted on exchange, and in idfc first bank, option was there but it was not working properly since these things i dont think all banks implemented properly, i will check with them. In RBL bank, we can increase bids in hni application.

I had applied for my sister''s IPO using my upi Id in sansera. It was processed and shares were allotted too.

@amateur: I have heard sometimes in other ipo forums that people are saying their third party applications are accepted as akt also mentioned here. Aa per sebi, it''s not allowed but all these things depends on registrar, they might accept them in less subscribed ipo and reject in high subscribed ipo or can reject always or accept always.
So no point in taking risk by using third party upi, better use same person upi id or use third party asba.

I think you will get ~157 shares. On listing day, it may double, however it all depends on secondary markets on listing day. But as per current GMP, it should double

1) I agree with Suneel Padavala. You will get allotment of around 157 shares on proportionate basis (i.e. 300 lots applied / 172.43 times subscribed x 90 shares per lot = 156.59 shares)
2) Regarding prospects on listing day, the share may get listed @ Rs.353/- plus
based on the below Grey Market trading rates (Datewise). This is only an indication. The actual listing rate would be purely based on the market condition on the listing day.
