@kk natarajan 440,
the govt will def not increase the limit from 35% to 50% due to obvious reasons...35% reserved for retail itself is done as a favour to retail and help bring retail money into the market...the problem off inc the the limit to 50% includes having to reduce the qib and hni section of the market...qib section of the market cannot be be disturbed as they from foriegn currency to the indian marrket which boosts our economy...hni section cannot be reduced as they form a major portion of today's market....hence 35% reservation will always remain unchanged......more over increasing the the reservation will bring volatility to the market...the govt has increased the limit to 2l to help investors but this has backfired since the smaller investors cant compete...the same problem arose when the sebi increased from 50k to 1 lakh...with in a few months we should gte used to this

@kk natarajan,
these companies are good to buy but i suggest wait for some time...insider trading is a serious offense,,,these stock may go futher down...but along with this stock another stock that is at attractive levels with strong fundamentals and management that got hit is deltacorp...strong company with rakesh jhunjhunwala heavily invested in it...also he says the gaming industry growing in india...105 is an attractive rate to buy but again has tendencies to go down due to the scam...
437. shahin salah |   Link |  Bookmark | December 5, 2010 9:14:45 PM
@eagle eye,i dont think its that great of a stock to buy in the long run...its will rise but slowly...there are better stocks to buy...itc even tho defensive is a much better prospect in the long term due to massive diversification...also the reason for qib invest is due to the fact again is,there are other companies in thee market to invest in and qib are generally a medium to long term investors(generally),they wont care if the value goes down and then back again in a couple of days

LIC OF INDIA IS AN GOOD STOCK TO BUY BUT AGAIN I AM OF THE PURE VIEW THAT AN STOCK WHICH IS UNDER SCANNER FROM GOVT PUBLIC ,WORKERS ,MANAGEMENT PROBLEM , ETC . AS SUCH ANY STOCK WHICH IS IN NEWS WILL RISE SLOWELY AS COMPAIRED TO THE INDEX
WHEN INDEX WAS MOVING UP LIC HOUSING WAS GOING UP BUT THE SPEED OF GOING UP IS SLOW ALSO INTEREST RATES ARE GOING TO RISE ANOTHER BAD NEWS FOR THE STOCK , ALSO STILL MORE ARREST ARE LIKELY TO COME WHO KNOWS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN
AN SENIOR OFFICER IN LIC WILL TAKE AWAY TWO OR MORE STAFF AS FAR AS ARREST AS THERE AND I AM VERY WELL HAVING THE IDEA OF ECONOMIC OFFENCE WING AND HOW THEY ACT AT PRESENT THEY ARE GOING SLOW SUDDENLY AFTER SOME DAYS YOU WILL YOURSELF KNOW
THERE ARE MANY STOCKS IN MARKET IN WHICH WE CAN EARN MONEY AND WHY TAKE TENSION FOR ALREADY BETTEN STOCK TO RISE FAST
MY VIEWS EXPRESSED ARE PURE ON EXPERINCE AND NOT OF ANY INTENSION
HAPPY INVESTING

Our experience in MOIL and SCI clearly indicates one thing. If at all the Govt. is interested in helping the retail investors it shopuld increase the retail resrevation from the present 35% to 50%. There is no meaning in merely increasing the retail limit to 2 lakhs and allowing the high net worth investors to sneak in and cut into the retail portion.

The Mantra of Secondary market is also this:
Be greedy when others are fearful;
Be fearful when others are greedy!

The Hindu Business Line dated Dec. 5 has this to say:
Preamble of 21st century Artha Shastra:
Where there is money, there is greed;
Where there is greed, there is scam;
Where there is scam, there is exaggeration;
Where there is exaggeration, there is over reaction;
Where there is over reaction, there is value buy!
Thats why LIC Housing Finance, PNB and DB Realty became value buys last week.
Now, will those stocks such as Welspun Corp, Ackruti City, Murli Industries and Brushman Industries, which are under SEBI's scanner become value buys soon?
Dear Sreedhar, are you listening?

I think SCI will list at around 140. The retail investors who are looking to exit on the first day will push it down to 135 levels. This I am fairly certain. I think Institutions didnt apply to this in full strength purely because of this reason, that people will bring it down below 140 and they will start buying this stock in the secondary market after listing. Once the stock moves from weak hands to stronger ones, it will stabilize at around 145-150 in 15-20 days after listing.
On the longer run, this is an excellent stock to own, with freight rates stabilizing and global economic activity picking up.

My advice for those who can hold on to this stock little longer would be to not sell this stock on listing and wait for 15 days at the minimum. This stock can give you 100% returns in 18-24 months timeline.

Cheers

@ sreedher,
@ milinds,
@bangalore king,
@mahesh jain
@vas nat
i agree my language is really harsh and apologise only for that.it was highly unprofessional of me..but i still stand by my stance that it was wrong for anyone(no matter his reputation) to suggest people to lose money in anyway be it big or small...by now i am aware that sreedhar is highly reputed and helped fellow boarders here and i aprreciate that...unfortunately one of the very 1st comments i read from sreedhar happen to be the 1 on discussion now..guess if i had known him before,my stance might have been different

@mahesh jain,what do you mean what purpose do the retail serve???they like you have entered in the market to earn some bread...no one has any right to ask them to getlost...i too get irritated with less number of allotments but this is how life is...these are called new investor...a couple of years ago you were a new investor too...and there is nothing like,if your in the market ,you will have to be in it for ever...in the case of power grid fpo,if you have noticed the prices were falling before the shares were allotted...went from 101 to 96 before listing...this was done by smarter and experienced 1s in the market sold power grid 2 days before allotment as they knew the allotment would reach them in time...the new retailers had no clue what hit them...also almost every fpo goes down at the time of allotment..you will know that if you have been in the market for long

@vas nat:i echo your same concerns..retailer do lose but they will learn and get back into it..i was once a retailer till i got completely into it...not many people will be like you and me but there will still be a good number

@bangalore king:just remember even your money will be on the market that your hoping to fall...also your freinds and family will also suffer if anything happens...and its call choice which makes people want to enter...we cant control it

@milinds...it was your post that turned my head on the whole issue...u had given a very frank opinion which throws light ...i didnt mean o be harsh but just happen as i personally felt it was somehting wrong to say...and i didnt bring up the rant not because i felt like i was someone who made something in the market,its because i was ones a initial retailer and i wouldnt want other people cursing in my progress and wanted to echo my sentiments from an initial investors point of view.
