Hey shreedhar Which one do u think is better. Sci or moil. I am planning to apply 8 (2 lack) application in sci & selling 3 lot of it. Is it a good decision or not. Regarding moil I already have applied 6 full application Kindly reply.
I think if you are long term investor and ready to take a chance for 10 rupees loss then you go for this share other wise this is not a good price band for listing gain at all . Avoid it .
In this falling market share can touch 133/- any day so ...........
I am new to this site. I find this site really informative and useful.
@ 116 Anonymous - I really liked your reply to 108 - Nitin Pai. You responded in a dignified way that shows your maturity and intelligence. Probably I would have replied in a equally harsh way...
I don't know why some people get charged up when they identify mistakes of others. Clarification could have been given without using the derogatory remarks such as - poor English, drunk, fully tight etc. May be it is an issue of complex (feel great by demeaning others to get false sense of superiority complex which they may not have otherwise!!!)
PRICE BAND OF 135-140 SEEMA LIKE A BAD PRICE BAND, BUT IN FACT ITS NOT BAD FOR A "WISE FOX TYPE RETAIL INVESTOR".
LOOK THE SHARE IS VERY VERY STABLE OVER LAST 5 YRS PERIOD IN NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES ITS RANGE HAS BEEN 120 - 160 FOR LAST 5 YRS.......
IN 2010 ITS AVG PRICE HAS BEEN 150+ .........
THE SHARE IS NOW AVAILABLE AT 52 WEEK LOW......
SOMEHOW IF THE SHARE STAYS BELOW 150 ON BOURSES TILL FPO CLOSES I WILL BE VERY VERY HAPPY , BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE A CHANCE TO ALLOT SHARES AT 135........
MIND IT SHARE WOULD NOT GO BELOW 140-142 IN NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND RETAIL PORTION WILL NOT CROSS 2 TIMES, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE TO EARN SAFE 3-4% RETURN ON WHOLE INVESTMENT ( I M ASSUMING 50% ALLOTMENT OF APPLIED MONEY AND SHARE WILL GIVE RETURN OF 5% RETAIL DISCOUNT + 2-3% NORMAL LISTING GAIN)
IT WILL DEFINETLY BEAT MOIL IN TERMS OF LISTING GAIN BUT ITS NOT THAT SAFE LIKE MOIL, I BELIEVE THERE WOULD BE HISTORIC MADNESS IN MOIL RETAIL SUBSCRIPTION MAY TOUCH 20-25 TIMES FOR A DECENT SIZE IPO.
I WILL DEFINETLY PUT SOME MONEY IN SCI (20%) APART FROM MOIL(80%) IF WE COULD THINK DIFFERENT FROM THE CROWD WE MAY MAKE PREMIUM MONEY LIKE SREEDHAR AND SJ DOES AND THE CROWD IS WITH MOIL NOT WITH SCI
NAV of SCI for FY '10 is 150. So it is coming at a price to book value of about 1. Half year ending EPS for FY '11 is 10.22. So the PE for FY '11 is about 7. Therefore valuation wise it is ok. The problem is the difference between the CMP and the upper end of the price band, which is just 5 rupees. Even in Power Grid when the price band was announced the CMP was around 100 - 101. So to maintain a difference of about at least 15Rs, the price of SCI may be taken up on Monday to around 155 as Sreedhar says.
Sorry, I missed something. yes it is 1 lack. so my second point is not valid. Then, is ASBA still considered as "recieved" by the other party?
108. NitinPai My English is not poor.:) Am a post-graduate. Sometimes, its just difficult to undestand wording in formal (govt/legal) doc/statements. Atleast they should have mentioned "applied amount" to make it clear. Do you think ASBA is considered as recieved by them?
;-) and not drunk, its just a diff timezone I am in.
112. Sanjay Mittal The I think IT will not go after small investors just like that.
main to kahta hoon ki koi bhi retailer ismeapply mat karo govt ka dimag satve aasman par aa gaya h power grid aur cil ko dekhkar isliye is fpo me retailers ke liye kuchh bhi nahi h my dear
106. Anonymous - you are probabbly not reading it properly.
Receipt from any person of an amount of one lakh rupees or more for acquiring shares issued by the Company.
The amount actually received from the transacting party and not the amount relating to allotment is to be reported.
The amount actually received from the transacting party.... This means amount received from the party regard less of amount of allotment.
So, people fearing about such info passed to IT dept can do accordingly. BTW, it's good to refer the link suggested to ateast know, what are the transactions those would be reported to IT Dept. This atleast will reduce fear of some group of people.
NEW DELHI: The government has fixed price band of Rs 135-140 a share for Shipping Corporation’s FPO through which it expects to raise about Rs 1,200 crore. The price band is lower than SCI’s closing price of Rs 145.40 on the BSE on Friday. It is Rs 31-36 less than its 52-week average of Rs 171 on BSE. Retail investors and SCI staff will get 5% discount. Under the share sale, 0.5% stake has been reserved for employees.
I think the Govt. has got it wrong this time by pricing it on higher side. Its more or less closer to the closing price on friday, the 26th day of Nov.,2010.
I think its going to be another NMDC kind of FPO.
For me its an avoid (only due to pricing). It may go up a bit on Monday, but definitely its going to settle below its FPO price band after FPO listing.
