Ratio can be an investment ranging from 6000(powergrid) to maxim 15000 (nestle) most of them at 7-8000. I don't buy large quantity and never buy same sector. Hunt for bottom fishing in only value stocks which have growth story. Targets are unlimited returns. I don't track intraday price of such stocks until there is some deep correction. Like on friday I placed order for Punj @ 80 and wanted to average NTPC @ 170 but both trade couldn't happen. I'm looking to average NTPC though I've bought NHPC at value price instead. In long term (2020) I hope to have atleast 15-25 times return.

Samita,

I've shares worth 1 lac 30 thousand approx as of now. These include 55 shares of NTPC at 206 average cost price (acp), NHPC bought todat at 552 @ 27.15, 100 Reliance India which I bought in march 2009 before split 1200 now 600 (total 200 @ acp 600 now after split), Nestle @ 2400, itc before bonus @ 230 acp, Powergrid from fpo 91 @ 73 (sold half at 96.45, got 192) 119 united bank @ 66 from ipo, engineer india 35 at ipo price and looking forward to add bharti, praj, punj, sbi, lupin, l&t, motherson, tata motors and titan in near future at 20-30% lower rates as all such stocks are overvalued.

@ 141
Hi Aryanraj...Can you pls elaborate how you are going about creating a portfolio for 2020. what kind of stocks you are accumulating and in what ratio, at what price, what kind of target you are keeping etc..

Till now i have been basically a hit & run type of investor who has been investing in IPOs for listing gains. Now I am looking for longterm investment & building a portfolio for future.

Your guidance will be helpful.

Thanks

Market lot is 50. Expect to subscribe 3-4 times due to small size and high price band. MOIL is expected to subscribe 30-40 times for hype created.

After listing, I believe that it will go above 150... as market sentiments are also going up. Finally smart move by Govt (beneficial to existing shareholders)...

@ Ravi,

I have cleared I'm looking for holding SCI and not listing gains. I'm not going to apply more than 4 lots and expect it to get 2x subs so I getting 100 shares. And I assume 140-145 remain intact on listing so I sell half of my allotment i.e. 50 and rest half will cost me 120-124 (140 to 144 assumed listing price - 133 retail price) = 7 to 11 profit from half sold thus rest holding becomes at 120 to 124.

These days I'm building portfolio for 2020 and accumulating shares which help Indian growth story. My intensions are not listing gains and I don't see any future in MOIL whatever it may give on listing bottomline is manganese ore is not forever and with 30x expected subs, I won't bet on getting 6000 worth shares for company which has limited resource. Who'll buy Reliance if their gas basins dries up? And I'm not dishearting anyone to apply infact I'll be happy if more people go for MOIL and leave SCI/Claris. After 2 lacs limit IPO market is dead for listing gains, rich will get little more rich and poor won't get any share.

You are an old player and you know buliding a healthy portfolio with current economic and share market scenrio is almost impossible as most stocks are overvalued and any correction can give 25-50% extra such portfolio shares.

Baltic Dry Index is coming down (Chem Cho's observation appears to be right). Global economy is under stress. Shipping industry depends on global economy, not on Indian economy.

SCI is raising money for fleet expansion. When global economy under stress, any capacity expansion will drag-down heavily on its financials. No wonder, it is trading below Book Value.

Facing Resistance in 147-159 zone. It could fall down to 115. I would like to go for MOIL although allotment is less as profit is almost assured.

Retail Discount :
I have seen the “Draft Prospectus with SEBI “ where it define the Retail Discount as “A discount of 5% to the Issue Price determined pursuant to the completion of the Book
Building Process given to the Retain Individual Bidders” I thnik there is typo error for “retain” it should be “retail”.

I was short on SCI future, exited today at no profit no loss. If price will go 150+ i will be shorting it again. Thankfully today price is not jacked up in SCI post ipo price band declaration.

The govt. has set the price level of SCIL on the higher side in respect of it current market price, owing to its book value around 145, and so the govt. has taken the call of 135-140. But seeing its current market price and factoring additional equity infusion its fair value comes around 130-136, which is lower than govt. fixed price, so the issue is expensive in terms of current market price, hence the investor won't get any appreciation in the stock after listing, even for the retail one after getting 5% discount. So better to avoid and buy it at 130 after listing. Shipping business is capital intensive and long gestation kind of business, so additional money raised will start giving return at least after 2 years, so this will severely affect the market price of the stock on the bourses. so the sluggisness will continue at this counter at least of an year. So don't go into it from FPO.

Gello Simrann,

Try to average it.
