FST,

I never said that going short in SCI futures is not lucrative ..... but to be on safer side you should apply 3 full application and short the future. and once the subscription numbers are out, you would know that how many shares you are getting and take decisive action for the 3 applications.... as in if you would be getting 700 shares on 1 application ... you would need all 3 , but if you'd be geeting 100 shares on 1 application, you would need 2 applications only for shorting one lot, so you can stop the payment of the 3rd application if you wish so.

Hi Sreedhar,

I have been following this forum from sometime and have seen your inputs ....I have to say, you do have great knowledge about IPO,s Stocks ... and the market in general. And I appreciate that you also try and guide the fellow members. Keep up the good work.

I applied for MOIL ... but as soon as I came to know about the subscription numbers, I instructed my bank to stop payment of all the cheques,
I'm thinking about going all out for SCI ... I'm applying 12 full applications .... and thinking about shorting futures. And also I'm trying to buy applications from grey mkt and then short futures. I wanted to ask you what kind of allotment do you think one would get in one full application ?

I'm thinking about 700 shares..... what does your intuition say

Thanks in advance .... and keep up the good work

regards

When all the retail investors oppose to 2 lac limit but then too sebi went ahead with the 2 lac limit seems to be suspicious,do at your own risk

I will avoid. Used part of that money to buy Koutons Retail @ 59.75. Would like to ACCUMULATE at declines for a target of 85.

Interested people can send two full applications & Short Futures & thus, lock your gains. But, this is not lucrative.

SO FRIENDS what everybody take on SCI FPO?

will it perform like REC & EIL or perish like NTPC,NMDC,NHPC?

time running out.

Can one apply 5 AASBA applications from 1 HDFC Bank like the case is in SBI online account?

It is a pity that the Govt. too has to operate its shares. Operation in SCI has started, seeing poor subscription at 11.30 today! It is suddenly going up this point of time. Anybody holding can use this opportunity to sell!

TILL yesterday not a single FII had applied in the FPO of SCI.

THis reminds one of bombed out FPOs of NMDC & NTPC where also the FII participation was minimal.

Mr Raj Nag @ 185: All the Reasons put forward by you are valid for Retail Investors to take note of and stay away. But the LIC and Govt., controlled Banks will bail it out.

Seems Like India Infoline is not accepting bids for SCI FPO. Its not listed in their IPO/FPO section since yesterday !!

Employee subscription does not in any way indicate or tell us about quality of the company. Just look at MOIL. Even that is not fully subscribed under the Employee reservation quota. And yet its subscribed so much overall!!
