hi friend (SHIPPING COR....) (STATE BANK OF INDIA ASBA VERY""" VERY""" POOR.............SITE... 200000 RETAIL (SBI 100000 RETAIL) SBI ASBA COMPUTER SAY 200000 HNI. WHAT IS THIS KYA KARE SBI KA??????? ASBA FACILITY IS VERY VERY POOR.......
Last, but not least, estimate how many times retail portion could subscribe. If you think it could subscribe two times, then apply for two full applications & one for one lac. You should plan in such a way that your FPO allocation should approximately match F&O lot size of 2000.
Similary, if you expect three times subscription in retial, then you should apply five full applications.
1. My guess is that it hardly moves in either direction till expiry as many short-positions could be created! Hence, not lucrative, but never said that don't do. Cherry picking in secondary market could be attractive.
2. You said that you are still planning. By the time you implement, it could reach 95% market-wide position (ban period) in F&O.
3. When many short-positions are created in F&O, it could trade in discount. In that case, you should leave it till expiry so that cash & future prices could converge. Then, sell your allotment at close say at 3:29 (just few minutes before expiry). Reason is when Futures come to discount, all your gains in allotment will be cancelled-out. Hence, you should use this strategy.
Plan all scenarios carefully before going ahead with your strategy.
Many guys are asking for subscription data direct link so here it is http://www.nseindia.com/marketinfo/ipochart/ipochart.jsp?issue=SCIFPOCUMUEQ&ir=I&cn=C&sd=D&cnlink=N
Thanks Raj Nag for answering my query. @236 navfame --You can apply from HDFC ,even I have done that.I have my demat account with SMC.
You just need to know the DP ID and Client Id if your demat is NSDL or only 16 digit Client ID if it is NSDL.Anand rathi can help you on this.
227, BADAYA, You can see subscription in the NSE and BSE websites and have to add both. In NSE website, NSE-BSE demand graph will be there which gives the combined data but a little late.

please help. i opened my account in hdfc bank but i have my demat with anand rathi. can i apply in asba with anand rathi demat or i have to open new dmat with hdfc . please reply??
Srini, Depending on the subscription level tonight and experts opinion, I will go for it. As of now, I am thinking about 2 x 1L application. But if the subscription level is less, probably I will just go with single 1 L application that too I will bid for 135 Rs.
As I see and from my previous experience there are some possibilities that it will go below 140 before the FPO shares get listed. Sreedhar, could you please comment on it?
What is your strategy on SCI now, how many lots you are going to apply, I am thinking of 1Lx1 and 50Kx1 applications, will decide tomorrow based on sreedhars recommendations.
