It appears that people have started using this forum to throw abuses towards each other. It is quite unprofessional. People who lack sense of courtesy should stop using this forum. I think Investors should be having a attitude to share experiences and gain knowledge about various IPO/FPOs before putting their money inn them. There should not be any bias towards any company or person. Nobody is an expert in any thing. People just go on learning about a subject of their interest.
Here the common subject is IPO investment. All users should restrict themselves to that only. There is no point in quarreling with each other. Hope good sense will prevail on all who use this forum.

Shahin,
After going through various post of sreedhar since EIL ipo i have come to conclusion that he is one of the best one who is doing "IPO" & specially FPO analysis.
I had interacted with him on chittorgarh & also on his personal email & i found him to be very honest & helpful person not only on IPO but also on secondary market.
Myself,KK natrajan,Srini, gane & many others have benifited immensely knowledgewise as well as money wise.
These comments of him are toward herd menatality of people as fae as IPO are concern & pl dont pick up few lines from his post & blame him.
By the way your words are very harsh & languages is very rough, may be because you made ten time money in 4 yrs. pl introspect.

the govt has given unexpected return in some of the past ipos like eil, coal, moil etc...........

dont forget that this is the same govt who have given lossess in nhpc, sjvn , ntpc, etc.............

sci will be very very mediocar return kind of fpo, although it may not give any loss to its investor but gain will be very very small....

if the fpo priced @ 140, which is the discovered price looking at the bids there will not be any significant gain,( issue price 133, mp@ listing 145, so gain in 2 lac applcn will be = 220 sh * 12 = 2600)

but somehow if the fpo is priced @ 135 which entirely depend on govt's mercy it will give a very good return

i m not expecting the sci market price to fall below 138-140 on closing basis.

discl: i avoided sci as domestic instns. drunk all the juice by bidding the issue @ 140 and i was also ill.

mr natarajan,i am not aware of any service by any body in this forum as i am new here...its only yesterday i joined to read views on claris ipo...by now i am aware that mr sreedhar is highly reputed member of this forum and his thoughts and ideas have helped loads of people...i too give tips and advices which have helped a lot of my friends are relatives and a few online...i wasnt looking for an oppurtunity to berate anyone..its just i read this comment about him wanting others to lose money and i find that kind of attitude absolutely ridiculous...highly unprofessional...i agree my rant was a bit unprofessional as well but i dislike people who have thoughts like these

mr smart ipo investor...i totally agree with you that retail investor sometimes fall for the market and never recover...me like you feel that they should be educated with certain aspects of the market and hence they will learn in time to invest responsibly....about the sci issue, there are certain investors i knpow who are just looking listing gains of just 2-3k to cover up certain loses...these are short term investor...about 90% of money from every ipo are from such short term investors...we both can agree to that hopefully

It is surprising to see retail subscription more than QIB or NII. It is definitely the effect of Coal India and to a lesser extent, Power Grid. In a way it is good for those who applied, because if there is loss it will be less as the loss will be shared by more!

Shahin salah,
Nobody should forget Sreedhar's selfless service in this forum and give so much importance to his one off comment which could have come out of the frustration on seeing people throng in such issues as SCI.
Before pouncing upon him on seeing a small opportunity, just think what in your contribution in this forum. Compare it with Sreedhar's contribution and then comment.
If you don't like his comments just mention that it is not the way to react, that's all.
Blaming is so easy. Helping others is not.

Mr. shahin salah

I agree with you that we should not say new investor loose their money and go away. But what i watch since last 15 years. People(New investor) always jump in hot market to make money in short term. And they endup with loosing money and blaming stock market for whole life. So this kind of investor are problem. That is way i posted details about SCI record. I would say we should tech people in this forum. That is how we can get good investor.

mr smart ipo investor,i have no issues with the fpo...i personally have not invested in it..i have been in the market for 5-6 yrs now and have been following it real well.started playing properly during the last 4 yrs..i even worked in a brokerage as a chart analyst...i was a hit badly during the fall and i know many people who have lost loads and i know a few who have almost taken their lives ..what i didnt like was sreeedhars comments about new investor to lose money and stay away...that is highly unprofessional and unethical...you too who have been in the market for the past 17yrs should know what he said was wrong...that was my point about the rant...

also what i wouldd like to say is,when some retaailer start out, they lose a lot off money...you will be aware of that esp those who go for short term gains...hence fpo's like sci are easy ways for them to get assured sums of 2-3k rs in a short span of time...and besides, due to the 2l limit by sebi,i dont think there will be many new investors who willl apply for 2l max...just a few among the new investors....hence his arguement is highly invalid...frankly i apply from 4 diff demat accounts for full applications while my friend who just started a couple of months ago apply for 50k from 1 account...its very simply and logical...only a percentage of these new retailers have lead to an issue being oversubscribed more than when the limit was 1L

@saharanpuri,397:
i am sure u have had great replies from sreedhar in the past and he might be highly qualified...BUT he has no right to talk abd curse fellow human beings for wanting to make some money...he has no right to want other people to lose their money...mind you,if u were not on chittograph,he would have prayed for you to lose his money as well...and frankly if he was experienced,i doubt he would have said something so selfish like this...i have no issues with him giving great advice and for others to make money...but is no one trying to say stuff like "or market crashes heavily so that all these retail guys who come last to the party disappear again for some time." & "I hate these crowd of retail who do no favor to themselves"...how does he know whether they are doing themselves a favour?any person being in the market for many yrs will never say a thing like this...

and my credentials being in the market for about making my bank balance change from 4.3lakhs to 46 lakhs for the course of 3-4 yrs...i also worked in sharekhan for 2 yrs...is that credentials enough for you???but my credentials dont matter right now...these are basic ethics which should never be changed whether he is a avg person or the president of the us

Shahin salah

Read this before shouting anyone. SCI is not worth for long term. And if you are player in stock market since 20 years then you must know people loosiing money in hot market with weak IPO script. I know this market since 1993. just go through my previous msg.

Guys carefull with Shipping corporation. check last 5 years finance history.it is down.

396 Shahin salah

Who are you to berate Sreedhar for giving his frank n honest opinion.

What track record do you have to use such strong words having posted for the first time on 2nd December only

Do you know that nearly 70% of boarders come on this board to get guidance from experienced n intelligent IPO investors like Sreedhar

393. shahin salah |   Link |  Bookmark | December 3, 2010 10:53:05 PM
@sreedhar:395
every1 has the right to apply for ipo's..you are really stupid and selfish and arrogant to suggest that the market crash and people lose their money.how old are you?18?its peoples wish where they want to buy or not...you are nothing but a unprofessional fool trying to act smart with the new retail people who come on forums asking for opinions...do u know howw many people have lost money during the crash and that havnt still recovered???how lame are you???and also joining the end of the party sucks as you make little...its when your there from the beginning,u reap the entire benefits of the party....
392. Sreedhar |   Link |  Bookmark | December 3, 2010 10:35:38 PM (900+ Posts)
It is a great pity an IPO like SCI is subscribed 6.5 times even after MOIL was subscribed 33 times.Compare this with EIL which is a similar sized issue with better quality & sizeable discount given & it subscribed only 3 times such were good old days when you used to earn a fortune by applying for IPOs.All this happening due to the most stupid decision of raising retail limit to 2 lakhs without increase in retail limit.Just imagine what will happen when a 500 cr issue like Punjab sind bank comes. It will be subscribed 100 times.

I have only 2 hopes either retail allocation should be increased or market crashes heavily so that all these retail guys who come last to the party disappear again for some time.Where were all these guys when Cox n Kings,Jubilant etc came up with their IPOs.Cox hardly subscribed once.I hate these crowd of retail who do no favor to themselves & others hence I have moved to secondary market & cashed on their same herd mentality & bought several stocks like LIC Hsg,PNB,DLF etc when they were selling we got firm & full allotment in these quality companies which are better than SCI,MOIL etc.

after coal India IPO

Subscription in IPOs tells us the demand from retailer side
Every retailer wants to make money thru primary market
None of us want to sell the application after seeing such a huge returns in Coal india. That's why none of the IPO will give more than 2K returns
So better to be cautious in Primary market
