Gyes...Any one plz clarify.. APPLY FOR SBI CARD IPO , UNDER SHAREHOLDERS CATEGORY HOW MANY APPLICATIONS CAN BE SENT FROM ONE PAN NUMBER..?
I WISH TO APPLY FOR 10 LOTS IN CUT OFF PRICE USING MY(SINGLE) PAN NUMBER.IN 10 APPLICATIONS OR 10 LOTS IN SINGLE APPLICATION ( NET BID PRICE WILL BE BELOW 2L)
Dear Friends, I have SBI Dmat Account & I have SBI share as well. So my question is will SBI netbanking will allow me to apply for SBI cards IPO through Share holder category & Retail categories ?
If so Is it valid application for IPO? I mean Can I apply for both the categories(share & retail). Also which category will have high chances of allotment if I apply for 5 lots in share category & 5 lots in retail category.
Apply for SBI from any bank through ASBA You Must Apply in SH Max of Rs 2lk and One Lot in RII ( Not 5 lot ) if you want Apply for 5 lot then you apply in HNI Up to 2lk but you will got 0 lot because HNI will subscribe more then 100x+ you apply max lot in SH and one lot in RII, if SH Quota not subscribes application vise then you will confirm lot and extra shares in SH Quota and also in RII if oyu are Lucky
First of all thank you so much for your replies.. So you mean in RII(retail) category not good to go for more lots i.e better to put one lot. But in share holder category we can put as many lots.. in this way chances of getting allotments can be maximised right.

This ipo is huge so i think full allotment will be...so before apply check...
I m also fearing so But if someone from your brokers or gray market traders buy @250(current gmp) You should sell some of ur quantity And book profit way early This is first company in credit cards and payment sector so no peer comparison, Also Price band (earlier rumors around 700-750)now heard bellow 620 (positive) Now let's wait for RHP to file We will have clear view
@sonal patel ji I never do short selling. Yet to decide how much I can apply (my desire is 40 lots , counting SH,and RI) It's too early to say how much I could sell
Mitral Sir, I respect your thoughts and experience... as your here in market from 1983 it's almost from before today's working young generation people birth... credit card is future of payment system where India is way behind than other countries...so this IPO can't be compare with any other past IPOs including SBI IPOs...agreed that this is big IPO... Let's wait for price band and market demand...

I also think that it will fully priced ipo and big ipo so how can be earn profit i think if 700-900 profit for each lot is better as full allotment possible..
Card are future we know but one fact should be accept that in this huge risk.
1 no more safe market available as all genuine and salaried person have at least 1 credit card and compare to hdfc and icici, sbi cc is costly.
2 now if given card to other people then default risk is huge and low margins of working
3 gov. May put any restriction in fees and commission etc to increase non cash transactions.
Other many things..
I thing most of market cover and now no much scope for growth like insurance company.
Insurance company have no risk of default as no liability without received premium and here bank need to transfer fund to merchant and bank received payment after 15-17 days of billing.
Dear Raja , Do you have any idea about shareholder reservation cut - off date in equitas i.e DHRP or RHP as I missed the opportunity in Ujjivan though I had enough time before RHP.
Thanks a lot IPO Mentor sir you are understood my query, next time i am be careful filing ipo application, and also Deep sir and Amit sir thanks you are try to help me.

Few +ve points about this business model - sbi is 2nd largest player in this sector after hdfc bank - around 55% income from if customer failed to make payment of full due amount, if customer paid minimum due then it always win win situation for card issuers becs they charged around 3.5 to 3.7% ROI per month on total due amount from date of transaction. Like if any customer do purchase of 1 lac amount after CC statement generated supposed minimum due is 10K and total due is 1 lac, if customer paid only 10K before due date still bank is charging 3.7% per month from the date of transaction on 1 lac amount instead of remaining 90k.
- 20% income from If customer convert their purchase into EMI, balance transfer of other card due also comes into this, currency markup charges.
- 25% income from charges like, overlimit spend charges, late payment charges, card reissue charges, annual fee, joining fee, cheque bounced charges etc etc
- year by year credit card customer will increase
- its easy for banks to sell insurance through credit card
- e comerce companies tie up with banks for thier sale promotions also retail stores, bank offering cashback on credit card this does not mean bank is actually giving from thier pocket its murchent or e comerce company actually giving this cash back as they are getting large customer base of bank card holders, this promotional model is already proven model and will going to sustain or increase at least in next 5 to 7 years
- online system is already in placed, very low cost to run this credit card business, almost everything is online like convert purchase in to EMI, Balance Transfer, statements (physical CC statement almost stopped by all banks). If any customer failed to make payment more than 2 times of billing cycle online system already reduces or stops his credit limit to avoid risk.
- bank person cant do any fruad in this model
- huge growth option in india as only 5% people here hold credit card, even dont expect more than 15% people will have card in next 5 to 7 years but still this is triple growth.
- customer have option to spend in any currency
- bank can sell personal loan easily upto 10lacs over credit limit for their loyal CC customer with no documentation process.
Few risks - transaction security if any fraud happened, bank need to take care of this - customer purposely dont pay their due amount, bank need to fight legally and need to pay legal charges to advisors - need to share purchase transaction charge with master card or VISA, billdesk or swipe machine bank
So long term this is portfolio stock, as this is first credit card company going to list not sure about correct price, market will tell exact price after listing. If this looks expensive for anyone wait for listing and then enter after share price is stable. If this looks attractive then must subscribe for IPO offer.
Business model looks good. But customer service needs to improve a lot if it needs to be in the business. I was struggling to change card pin for 1 month!!!
sbicard.com if you have registered your credit card with this then you can manage it.
If you are talking about the SBI debit card pin then please note SBI debit card is not comes under this, this IPO is about SBI credit card and credit related payment services.
Good short long overview about model...but about growth there are competition from other Banks...also Indian public tendency about adopting credit card which will take more years...but overall profit making site of SBI... If anyone ask what is good about SBI...I would say their credit card is best...

@dipcdsl Yes there is high competition which should not be denying and this is one of the risk point but sbicard is already doing much better than other domestic banks, i could say below are in general famous bank cards by ranks, i may wrong about ranking But SBI position is good than domestic banks.
Amex(only for online transaction) RBL (ONLY foreign currency transaction) SCB (all type of transactions) CITI HDFC SBI HSBC ICICI AXIS RBL KOTAK YESBANK INDUSIND FEDERAL BOB
Except amex your rank looks good...Amex presence in India is not famous but in terms of rewards then you might correct... Reward points is bank spending...so this is also factor where bank need to spend to keep their card famous in market...like RBL and SCB are offering more rewards to their customer against purchase which hold their cards in famous top list...
Hello. If I'm Investing in a mutual fund from 2 years, which includes the SBI Share; Then am I Eligible for the shareholders Category???? If not then tell me valid reason.. - Thanks in advance. :-)
Dear forum member if i invested in my one application by category wise in retails if i applied 12 lots worth of 177984 rs and also applied 12 lots in sbi shareholders because i am share of sbi bank since last 2 years so that i invest 24 lots each 12 in retail and 12 in shareholders then my application will be accepted or rejected please give some suggestions all forum members
