Yes, you are right:

1. If you planning to apply in both RII and Shareholders, you cannot bid for more than 2L in each of these category.
2. If you are planning for only shareholders category, you could apply as much as you want.

Dear team Chittorgarh it is very good information that in shareholder quota one can apply as much as one wants. Does it apply to all IPOs of near future unless revised? Did it apply to all IPOs during last couple of years?

It is difficult to believe because in that case hnis will buy one share of promoter company and apply for a large number of shares in shareholder quota. It did not happen in shareholder category of HDFC AMC or Ujjivan sfb

Seniors may kindly comment. As per team Chittorgarh there is no upper limit under shareholder quota ie one can apply for shares worth Rs ten lakh or one crore etc. I have never heard so in previous IPOs. Will allotment be subject to minimum one lot if possible, just like retail category? Although it is a large IPO but suppose if NII category is subscribed 100 times then shareholder category may also get similar over subscription if allotment is not subject to minimum one lot

We do not see any max limit in applying in shareholders category for SBI shareholders. This means you can apply as many shares as you want.

The whole idea of shareholders quota is vanished as the cut-off date is made as RHP filing date. Everyone has enough time to buy 1 share to be eligible.

Dear Sirs,
We would like to correct ourselves with a SEBI circular which allows maximum Rs 2L to "retail individual shareholders". This is not explicitly mentioned in the DRHP but it would be safe to assume that maximum limit for individual retail investor in shareholders category is Rs 2 L max.

Page 7 of circular says
""retail individual investor" means an investor who applies or bids for specified securities for a value of not more than two lakhs rupees;"

Please share if you find more relevant information.

Dear Admin in DRHP they have not mentioned anywhere that only retail individuals can be shareholders. In USFB RHP it was clearly mentioned that NII cannot be shareholder.

Following is extract from SBI Cards DRHP Pg 8 (Description of NII)
"All Bidders that are not QIBs (including Anchor Investors) or Retail Individual
Investors, who have Bid for Equity Shares for an amount of more than Rs 200,000
(but not including NRIs other than Eligible NRIs)"

And following is extract from USFB RHP Pg 6 (Description of NII)
"All Bidders that are not QIBs or Retail Individual Bidders or Eligible UFSL Shareholders and who have Bid for Equity Shares for an amount of more than Rs 200,000 (but not including NRIs other than Eligible NRIs)"

Also in USFB RHP many places they clearly mentioned max limit under shareholder quota is 2L which is not mentioned in Sbi Card DRHP.

The reference that you are making to Pg 7 of SEBI circular is just definition of "Retail Individual Shareholder". In that circular also it is no where mentioned that shareholder cannot be NII.

as per SEBI circular maximum shareholder quota limit is 2 lacs, SBI DRHP must forget to mention this

Also if there is no limit for shareholder quota then HNIs not really need to Bid under their NII quota they all comes and bid under shareholder quota.

So dont take granted that shareholder quota there is no limit, wait for RHP it will have all clear details.
Also before IPO open registrar sends emails to shareholder in that also they will mention exact allowable limit.

If this is rule of SEBI that maxium 2 lacs can be bid under shareholder then who is company or promoters deciding on this :)

Do not give wrong info about ICICI pru IPO that there was no limit for shareholder quota.
please check below basis of allotment of icici pru IPO where maximum lots applied by shareholder.

as per above link people applied maxium 10 lots of amount 146,960‬ only.
