What is the benefit of applying in SHNI category over retail? Do we get more lots allotted or still only 1 lot is allotted? Is it the higher chance of getting allotment due to which SHNI is preferable over retail as number of unique applications are less?

14 lots are alloted in shni. Generally allotment chances are lower for shni because most of retail have shifted there, since you get 14 lots directly if selected, 14x listing gains as compared to retail

It is working fine. Applied today morning.

Kotak asba not working. Call customer care. Few months ago same problem was there. I called customer care. They told so many complaints are there.,our technicians are working but they could fix only after two days. So please complain them, me too complaing.

@Johny you might have applied through mobile app not net banking. Its not working in net banking since yesterday.

@Akash Jaiswal - I applied through netbanking. Looks like this could be selective problem as even @Rajendra sethia facing same problem.

Kotak asba old version still not working please try by new version.It is working now.

For me as well, Kotak ipo asba not working through net banking. Too much frustrating.

It's a different...depend on subscription...in oversubscribed lottery system when u applied for 10 lots...ur application divided into 10...when system start randomise selection it's start for a single available lot and application get selected in that randomisation....by number of lots u increase ur probability of getting allotment...if there is 5x subscription and u applied for a 10 lots ur probability is 2x and if u applied for 1 lot ur probability is 1/5x..

@Mskreddy: In case of oversubscription IPOs allotment chances are same. In case of under subscribed IPOs u will get allotment for the applied lots in the retail category.

How many lots in an IPO should I apply to get maximum allocation in retail category?
There are two possible scenarios:

1. IPO will get oversubscribed multiple times in retail category

In that case no matter how many lots you have applied, you will get maximum of one lot and that too in a lottery system based on how many times IPO subscribed in retail category. So you should not apply for more than one lot in a good issue which is expected to oversubscribed heavily.

2. IPO may not fully subscribed in retail category

However, in an IPO which may turn out to be not very popular and where subscription is less than or equal to one time in retail category, n you will get as many lots as you have applied (maximum shares of Rs 2 lakh as that is the maximum limit in retail category). But this scenarios presents a significant risk as there is not much demand of IPO shares and prices may fall on the listing day.

In summary, in order to be on safer side, it is advisable to always apply for one lot only in all cases.

In oversubscribed if chances are same and maximum chances of one lot only then why many people get 2/3, 3/13, 1/13, 4/5....it's a maths called probability and allotment work according it.

Yes in bHNI category Dukes sir .... but if grey market fluctuates towards lower side u may see lesser subscription than that and vice versa ...

how to check application wise subscription in retail category? means pan card wise application.

I think older IPO pages are live

They remain open, only thing is on CG, instead of IPO discussions, after some time it becomes normal Stock Discussion (which i believe makes sense ). You need to go to Stock Price tab and there you can discuss about the stock.

E.g. here is the link to Uniparts stock discussion page:

This tab gets activated after some time and you can continue the discussion about the stock. Seems not many people are aware of it.

Hoe many lots you will get it can't be predicted but applying 10 lots from different apps will increase the chances of allotment.

Do not apply more than one lot in retail as the chances of allotment is same whether you apply 1/5/10/13 any.
