Dear Gane, QIBs do not apply in small Issues due to liquidity problems.Even if they apply they apply for flipping on the day of listing. You see any small Issue like Gyscoal,Tirupati Inks etc.QIB subscription is only generally 1-1.5 times which will be easily done on the last day.Foe small Issues most Imp is HNI subscription & it should be more than 15 times.Since already it is completed 3 times it is fine.
Pandit Ji, From the time stock market trading started trading when did SEBI stopped manipulators. If it had clamped down then retail would not have suffered so much losses. There was no manipulation in Gravita as due to technical Issues where lot of people shorted in greymarket covered & pulled it up.How to prevent manipulation? What will SEBI do?Does it say grade 2 Issues should list only 5 percent up not maore than that????when a small Issue gets well subscribed how can u say it is manipulated. It may not be fundamentally strong but it is subscribed well.Who is giving permission to Grade 1 Issues. Is it me or you????Then the source which has given permission to RPP what steps it will take to prevent Jacking up the price of RPP???Say If RPP is subscribed 15 times in retail then how will u say it is manipulated.
@153 Pandit Ji There are 2 directions on this when we discuss for such IPOs like u mentioned..Bedmutha n BS Transcomm 1) even if the fundamentals were wrong/incorrect they gave good time to sell n earn high profits coz not many ppl buy such shares..so bid n sell on listing..make profit at our own risk..we shud not ever think of holding them till the day end 2) n for IPOS like COAL, PGrid..we shud think calm n for long term The pt I wanna put here is we need to think different ways for diff types of IPOs..bad IPOs sell on day 1..good IPOs keep holding..what do u say SIR??
I agree with you, with ICICI direct and HDFC, not permitting bid on thier portals of RPP, the retail portion will definately get effected, but the problem here is not with retail, but QIBs, who have not bid for a single share, still early days yet, Issue closes on the 22nd.
But the fact remains the Issue has poor fundamentals, as I said with rampant manipulation in Bedmutha, BS Transcom, etc tec, SEBI may come down heavily on such speculation, If RPP happens to be the first one under fire, then it will be a decsion gone wrong, there are many good issues lined up, why not apply in them, why bet on a fluke horse
Why QIBs didnt turn to this IPO? Its something fishy. I think I will give a pass to this IPO. Even with less than 2 times QIB subscription in Cantabil, I know what will happen on listing day. Or the operators should drive it.
