I am placing below details from a publication which show that the face value is Rs 10 and not 2. Chittorgarh.com may please make necessary corrections
Issue Details
Reliance Power to issue 26 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each
Issue Contribution :
>Promoters’ contribution of 3.2 crore Equity Shares which shall be allotted at the IPO price to the Promoters.
>The balance 22.8 crore equity shares would constitute the net issue to the public.
>The issue will constitute 11.5% and the net issue will constitute 10.1% of the post-Issue paid-up equity capital of Reliance Power.
Issue Price :
Reliance Power has fixed the price band for the IPO at Rs 405 - 450 per share.
For Retailers we can apply at 430 rs ,which is approximately less by 5% of the
issue price.so we get at discounted rate by 20 rs.
Payment Option :
Reliance Power has also fixed convenient payment terms for all categories of investors. While QIBs are required to pay 10% on the application, the HNIs and retail investors will have the option to pay Rs 115 on the application, i.e. only approximately 25% of the issue price. The balance amount will be payable on allotment.
Issue Date :
The IPO is scheduled to open on January 15, 2008 and will close on January 18, 2008.

can any body tell me what is the 5-10 per cent discount to retail investors
553. rjindia |   Link |  Bookmark | January 3, 2008 10:53:15 AM
Yes Madhu IPO King you are right. If we take the projected premium and the issue price together (taking rs 2 as the face value)the market rate for Rs 10 face value equivelant should be more than Rs 4000 per share. This appears to be unrealistic. So the face value of the present issue must be 10 and not 2.

Hi guys,

Can we sell the stocks on the listing date itself if we go by part payment. And when should be the balance payment paid after allotment. Will it fall before the listing date, there by making it feasible to sell all the stocks on listing day itself or will it get delayed?

Please reply.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Friends,
This is such a huge issue where everyone will get allotment.
So why should there be any premium at all???

Moreover this is a Rs 2 share. Why should someone pay Rs 350 premium which is like paying Rs 1750 premium for a Rs 10 share.UNIMAGINABLE.Our friend Mr Vishal @ 537 is DAY DREAMING.

To get more over subscription in retail they are allowing part payment option. It will notionally get 4 times more subscribed by everyone opting for PP route.Don't expect premium in hundreds. It may be between Rs 20 to Rs 40.Don't be greedy and foolish.

When everyone is assured of getting allotment where are the secondary market buyers.Remember RPL which was quoting nominally till it was rigged and taken up to current levels.Ambanis are famous for taking the market on a big happy ride by planting stories and keeping their stocks active.

Expect nominal listing gains and maybe after one/two years it may be different. Now their timing is good because everyone is talking of POWER.

Just remember 130 crore shares are now being offered.GMP shown in some places is to make you salivate. It won't be like that at all.
Every one will get allotment in large quantities also.High premium will be on when the issue is small, with huge over-subscription and there is a lot of appetite. Not here where everyone's belly is more or less full and bursting.Just wait and watch for all the hype to be built up.

Hi all,
I have just seen the DRHP(DRAFT RED HERRING PROSPECTUS) OF Reliance IPO which speaks that the face value is 2/- per share.
Isn't it expensive..450/- for a share of just 2/- face value only ??????? Thats y the Rel Power IPO advertisement is being broadcasted for every 3-5 minutes in CNBC channel...Is it practically a good IPO or is it just a hype like how Reliance petroleum and RNRL shares spiked 15-20% everyday for 1 month and suddenly slashed and bursted.I know lot of people who bought RPL for 260/- and above and lost lot of money when RPL fell down to 190/-
HOW MANY OF THE INVESTORS ARE AWARE THAT FACE VALUE IS ONLY 2/-????
546. Dharm Palo |   Link |  Bookmark | January 3, 2008 10:05:39 AM
I think the face value is Rs10/-
545. pavan m |   Link |  Bookmark | January 3, 2008 9:56:34 AM
Hi all,
What is the face value of each share???? Are all of u aware that the face value (according to this site) is 2/- per share..I heard that initially even though Reliance has fixed face value of 2/-, due to some problems with SEBI, it has changed the face value to 10/-. Correct me if im wrong...
One more big Question is..IF FACE VALUE IS 2/-...ISNT IT OVER VALUED AND EXPENSIVE ?????????????

Any diffrence in allotment for full payment and part payment?
please clerify

Hey VVS,

There is no difference when it comes to alloted shares. Suppose you applied for 1 Lakh shares while paying just 25K and get shares worth 20K, you will get a refund of 5K after allotment. But in case you are allotted shares worth 30K, you need to pay 5K for full allotment.

Also, the partly paid allotted shares are not listed on the listing date. It lists later on after all the payments for part payment options have been received. So you can not sale shares worth 5K (in my example) till it lists on some day after the actual listing date/

Hope that helps.

Manish
