Applied 25000 for shares of 100,000.
Oversubscription(retail) : 5
Got shares worth: 20000 (100000/5)

So will these 20000 worth shares be available for sale on the listing day?

In detail:
Very important question for senior boarders: if the issue gets oversubscribed by more than 4-5 times, in that case, even after paying just 25%, we will end-up getting shares lesser than for 25%. In that case, will the shares still be blocked for 26 days post listing or else, would we have the option of selling them on the listing day itself.

Subramanya@1770

There is an option to cancel the application in Sharekhan, if applied online, till 1 PM of the last day of IPO.
You can give a try.
Good luck.

Going by the frenzy created by Reliance Power, i think it may also follow the Footsteps of Reliance Petrolium.

When RPL IPO had come some few years back, it too created same kind of frenzy. It got listed at 101. But later settled for 85, and then around 65 which was its IPO price. Later it even got below its IPO price around 55.

Needless to say that now times have changed, but due to its frenzy among new investors, I feel more and more people are joining it for Short Term Gains.

So after listing day, don't be surprised if it trips all the listing gains in near term.

Fair price per share = Rs. 130
Brand power per share = Rs. 320
Price per share = Rs. 450

Most brand valuation methods are biased towards 'sales generation' potential of the brand. Lux brand is to be valued by the no of units of soaps that can be sold under the brand and the premium price it can command because of the brand.

Now there is "RELIANCE" brand. Unlike other brands it's not about the no of units of product it can sell but no of shares it can sell and the price premium it can command. And then you need to be a financial wizard like Anil Ambani (ADA) to be able to actually convert brand power into cash. He has created an unprecedented buzz around the IPO. The whole power sector has been re-rated after his big ticket IPO announcement. He had played his cards amazingly well – from making the Investment Bankers (IB) to toe the line to grabbing headlines he has done everything right. The "Power On. India On" campaign is also neatly done. The advertisement has that 'energy' about it which generates excitement

Arti(1776),

In my experience, Sharekhan's Customer support is worst. We may have to wait for minimum 20 minutes for a simple query resolution. All these buggers are like this....While a/c opening, they will call you 100 tines...Once they are done, they forget all customers....:-(

chaman,
With my experience whenever i was out of country.
Fastest response is Sharekhan.( moderate charges People are co-operative and solve the problem quickly on net itself, they are ON live chat( yahoo.messanger) during the mkt hours)

Slowest response is Reliance Money.( least charges,
Custormer service is not upto mark.)

ICICI hopeless.heavy charges.( Not working when trafic is heavy. Like on listing day etc.No customer service is available)
Raligar do not know.
India bull not so good.
