NEW DELHI, March 9: State-run Rural Electrification Corp, which raised close to Rs 1,640 crore through initial public offer last month, will be listed on the bourses on 12 March. Sources said that the company's CMD Mr Uma Shanker, who took over charge on 3 March, would ring the bell at the National Stock Exchange on Wednesday. The listing takes place amid volatility in the stock market. The BSE benchmark Sensex on Friday closed at 15,975.52 points, its lowest level since 18 September 2007. REC hit the capital market on 19 February, offering 15.62 equity shares. The issue generated demand for shares worth Rs 46,000 crore getting oversubscribed by more than 27 times. The IPO was fully subscribed within 27 minutes of its opening.
