Idhaar koi likha hai, Ramky ka auditor KPMG (a big 4 audit firm) hai. Tho kya huwa? Kyon Auditor name use kar raha hai? Hyderabad company Satyam Computers ka auditor bhi eek Big 4 audit firm tha ( Price Water House Coopers or PWC)! Jitana bada auditor tha, (Satyam ka) utna bada ghotala nikhla tha!

@Saharanpuri ji... I have also applied to Ramky. I will be selling on listing day if in profit. No doubt its a very good company , fundamentally very strong. But i feel when correction will happen , it may fall below issue price. That will be the best time to repurchase it.

Regards...

Saharanpuri ji, i haven't wrote any article's here. since I am not a regular investor or Trader. i have completed my graduation and in search of a job. since got free time i am writing.
Company Profile:
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Ramky Infrastructure Limited operates as an integrated construction, and infrastructure development and management company in India. It was incorporated in 1994 as Ramky
Engineers Private Ltd. The company undertakes construction projects in various sectors that include
1)water and waste water projects: such as water treatment plants, water transmission and distribution systems, elevated reservoirs and ground level service reservoirs, sewage treatment plants, common effluent treatment plants, tertiary treatment plants, underground drainage systems, and lake restorations;
2)irrigation projects:
including cross-drainage works, lift irrigation projects, and dams and barrages;
3)industrial construction:
projects comprising industrial parks and special economic zones; 4)transportation projects:
which include expressways, highways, bridges, flyovers, and dedicated service corridors;
5)building construction:
commercial, residential, public, institutional and corporate buildings, mass housing projects, and related infrastructure and facilities, such as hospitals and shopping malls;
6)power transmission and distribution projects:
such as electricity transmission networks, substation feeder lines, and low tension distribution lines.
It also involves in the development projects that are undertaken on a public private partnership basis and are operated by separate special purpose vehicles promoted by the company and the government. In addition, the company offers consultancy services in the areas of infrastructure development, waste management, environment, and property development.

Strengths:
1)Construction business operates in diverse sectors thus reducing the dependence on any one sector or type of project.
2)Company has pan-India presence, which gives it an ability to participate in projects in all regions of India.
3)The total amount of new orders for the construction business and the average order size for has been consistently growing.
4)Company has strong and diverse order book.
5)Ramky has advantageous position because of its operating history, industry knowledge, experience and familiarity with civil and infrastructure construction projects.

Concerns:
1)Major part of the income came from Construction and infrastructure projects undertaken or awarded by government authorities and thus changes in government or its policies could adversely affect the business of the company.
2)The cost of sub-contracting, materials consumed, labour and other project-related inputs constitutes a significant part of the operating expenses and any increase in the costs would result in decreased profits.

The Management of this company is very gud and i like them. for a long term investor who want to play indian Infrastructure story can enter this stock. when comparing with IVRCL, NCC, HCC they have already grown up to a huge size. Ramky is expected to grow to a sizable company as IVRCL's NCC's in next 3-4 years. why should't we give premium to the company which is well diversified and growing at a CAGR of 50% consistently.

Thanks and Regards,
Ramkishore(Ram Hyd).

Since some people are comparing with ARSS, the following comparison is given for the benefit of readers:
ARSS Infra's EPS is about Rs 80 to Rs 90 per share.
At current price, P/E ratio of ARSS is about 13 times. At IPO issue price, ARSS P/E ratio would be 8 times.
Ramky ( as per consolidated result for FY 09.10) EPS is about Rs 20 per share.
At expected issue price of Rs 450/-, Ramky's P/E ratio will be 22 times.

In an interview with ET Now, M. Goutham Reddy, executive director, , talks about their water and waste management business. Excerpts:

Talking about water and waste management, we are going to a public private model. How fast is that business growing for you and how many new contracts are in the pipeline?

The total order book was Rs 10,500 crore and of that we have got about 30% coming from the water and waste water sector. Now all of this predominantly is an EPC kind of business as of today because very little in the form of public private partnership has taken off. I think the government is yet to privatise the water sector considering that as a social sector.

But given the fact that as of today many of us hesitate to pick up a glass of water from a tap and drink, is an indication of the requirement of huge change that the sector is supposed to go through. Give us much better quality of water infrastructure and we believe the opportunity is very huge and the change is quite significantly and quite rapidly happening now. We see it as a wonderful opportunity going forward.

Have you looked at putting Ramky’s either at this stage or at next stage in a different spin off altogether because then you would attract a lot of institutional investors who only invest in businesses like this?

If you look at, we had started this company purely as a water and waste water company. About 17 years back - in 1994 - 100% of our business was that. But we realised that EPC is a high volume business and we need to really get into the high volume business and therefore sectoral diversification - we felt - was very important and consciously kept adding sectors over the last 16 years.

Being a first generation company, we have added buildings, irrigation projects, roads, industrial construction and power transmission. We believe that diversification is the key for the success of the EPC kind of a business. And to augment the , we felt that sustainable cash flows have to come and therefore we have also augmented the developer business which brings in the sustainable cash flow to the company.

What you are going to do with this money that you are getting? What is the break up and how are you going to use it?

Out of the 530 crore issue size, 350 crore is primary offering and 180 crore is offer for sale. The 350 crore is being put to construction missionary by 80 crore, 175 crore is augmenting the working capital requirement and the balance is for general corporate purposes. The promoters and the investors were selling their balance 180 crore.
