I have used words unexpected over allotment to retailers as there is no such huge allotment in last few months, so as a layman first he want to secure himself by selling at least half position which creates selling pressure. Also QIB not ready to buy this stock on listing which is already overpriced.

This is what everyone said about Jupiter. QIB won't buy this high PE issue as there are better hospitals like Narayana hrudyalala available at cheaper PE.

Alert for small and new investor only, Heavy selling pressure from retailer seen on listing day, due to unexpected over allotment, many IPOs coming and no one want to block money in this, Already valuations on higher side, companies Q1 results cooked to higher side for ipo, 90% OFS, Low margin etc. No doubt company is good but not right for listing pop. Please ignore if i m wrong. I have observed this type of ipos lisiing since many years.

What's over allotment?

Also, QIB has put in 20k crore, so it's safe to assume they would most likely absorb the selling pressure on 1st day.

Because 1000 crore is what has been alloted to HNI and retail.

All over allotment.. etc.. went for toss.

That's why "Yeh Market Sabka hai Boss"

QIBs are not stupid people (although many think they are because it's not their money).

In the most easiest way to explain.. Jab IT return ke liye CA ke pass jate ho toh kya he also thinks "kuch bhi file Kar dete hain.. Mera thodi na paisa hai"

Similarly, QIBs are also answerable to their investors.. Open an AIF (Alternate Investments Fund), phir dekho kitne HNI Sar per baith ke questions karte hain..

Also, not saying QIBs are always right and it's the only parameters. But they are one of the parameters for IPO acc. to me.

Somebody please discuss about listing day strategy. Is it worth to keep it for 1 to 2 years or just to take listing gain.
I can wait for long term. Please guide somebody

The gem!
Except a little high valuation,stock doesnt have any big red flags and if it posts great results(high chance of that) the price will sync definitely.It's growing sector as the infrastructure is being focused heavily demand of wires,cables,fmeg would definitely go up.As per canara security report the market of wires and cable is around 70000 croes which may enlarge upto 120000 crores by FY27.RR has only 5% market share in wires category so huge opportunity yet also little challenging to beat leaders like polycab.RR has established its brand value especially in wires,In my region most of new houses are getting equipped with RR rather than polycab.Engineers suggest RR more than others,I dont know if it is really premium product or they have some edge in promoting but one thing is sure that RR is growing rapidly.

We all know the story of polycab how great wealth it has made for its investors.Not only polycab but whole sector has generated great wealth recently.sharing some data of peers.Except havells each stock has given almost 100% return in a year clearly showcasing sector boomness.Hope RR will not follow Havells path🙂

normal listing 26 ko hoti, par new rules kuch kuch registrar ne follow kiya
agar 26 ko hoti toah GMP 10 % hain abhi toah 26 tak market ke mood mahool ki hisab se kaam jyada hoti toah abhi listing ke liye jyada intzaar nahi karna padega

For smallcaps and midcap stocks one should keep in mind following,

Established brand
Experienced management
Good market share
Reasonable valuations

RR fulfilled mostly

If someone can hold 2-3years and digest market fluctuations than keep it otherwise sell on listing

Mostly investors (retailers or HNIs) are looking for listing gains so selling pressure can be seen
