1) I could observe that buy orders of 100, 250 existed today during trade hours which mean that not only the pensioners are interested but also the interest is shown by HNIs & QIBs.(Lets keep in mind that FIIs are not allowed to trade these bonds).
2) I have worked out that the least cost of interest for OD aginst FD is 7%.(You may pl refer to my earlier post). SBI has paid the same 7% interest back to us and therefore the effective cost of application is NIL.
3) Moreover I have mentioned right during the time of application that the commission paid by brokerages is attractive apart from other benefits. Most of the members I believe have got commission varying from 0.75% onwards. This works out to Rs.75/- per bond. Therefore the effective cost of each bond is Rs.9925/- and whenever the break even is low it justifies holding the bonds atleast for sometime if not hold on a very long term basis.
Bj, I hv already given the reasons. If not for this inflation stubbornness it would have traded higher.Yesterday itself banks have said deposit rates have peaked ,there may be maximum of 25-50 more basis point hike.
Gotala govt. ka ipo buri tarah fail ho gaya ,public NHPC ki tarah 3rd class ipo may lutnay ko tayar nahi hi ,jo tayar hi unko full allotment honay wala hi 2 lakh ki appl. pay 2 lakh ka allotment ,ab kitnay stop payment kara patay hi.
Sreedhar, Even though recently these N2 series has been ex-interest ,I dont understand why is it trading at such a high premium(2.5 - 3%).

shreedhar sir, thanks for reply, i know in sbi bond there is intrest diff and period diff between series-3 and series-4. my question is what is the rate diff in sbi bond series-3 and series-4 at the time of listing date ??? please answer me sir ????/????
Fools Brooker - I agree the trade in SBI N1 & N2 bonds is dull today. But pl clarify
1) Why at all there are buyers of N1 & N2 when it is clear that N3 , N4 bonds at higher interest rates are going to be listed shortly.
2) N3 , N4 bonds are issued at much larger size compared to N1 & N2 bonds & the liquidity will be high and knowing this why there are buyers for N1, N2 bonds?
3) If you have target of 9900 for N4 bonds, then what will be the corresponding N3,N2,N1 rates. 9800,9700,9600 ????
