In a dull market conditions, the listing will be at 25% premium and in a bullish market condition, the listing will be at 40 to 50% premium, at least.

Good money can be made on Power Grid in two month

Sanju Verma, HDFC Securities believes that Power Grid has been reasonably priced. There is a good amount of money left on the table for prospective investors. The story still looks interesting.
Verma told CNBC-TV18, “Power Grid has the ability to pan out into an interesting story particularly from a valuation’s perspective. If you were to compare it with NTPC then NTPC trades at close to 2.5-3 times price to book whereas if you look at Power Grid even the upper end of the band at Rs 52 would be available at less than 1.5 times price to book. So clearly the best part about this IPO is that it has been reasonably priced and in two month it can go to 88 rs range or close to 100rs . There is a good amount of money left on the table for prospective investors.”
She further added, “Coming to fundamentals, a lot needs to be done because while an NTPC gives you assured returns in the region of 13%-14% despite claims to that effect, Power Grid has on an average not been able to go beyond 10.5%-11% mark in terms of returns to investors that is where there is a slip up but on the balance the story still looks interesting
