U r absolutely right. Investors have every right to express their dis-pleasure. However, punters should not complain. Intra-day trading not advisable. Even if they do occasionally, they should take exposure of more than 50% of their monthly income.

Eg: if your monthly income is Rs.1 lac, don't trade in more than 150 shares of BS Transcomm @ 325. Intra-day trading hit rate is only 50%. While you are right you shluld get Rs.3 for every Re.1 risk, otherwise, you are looser if your home-work is not good & if you don't have a habit of keeping stop-loss.

@ all
we all were quite happy that no anonymous comments could be posted
but look at this portal now .. it has become so dull!!!
also market is not just a few intelligent ppl but a mix of various participants ...
i agree that obscene language should be given 0 tolerance but banning anonymous is making this portal less representative. only a handful ppl would comment and not all.
ppl cursed about NMDC, NHPC and this irritated others .. but guys those ppl hav lost serious money ... they hav full right to do so and every voice needs to be heard..
such cautionary statements indicates that things are not wat they were during r-power time ... ppl hav not forgotten the 2 yr stock market debacle. actually even a collection of idiotic comments makes a lot of sense in perceiving markets n their behaviour ...

I am holding 100 PowerGrid @112. Is it advisable to hold stock or to sell it off?

Note:
I will surely apply 1 full application (either 1L or 2L)for Power Grid FPO if the response is good. Thanks.

POWER GRID ISSUE PRICE BAND LIKLY 80-90 RS WITH 5% DISCOUNT TO RETAIL INVESTORS DISCOUNTING 15 % DISCOUNT FORM CURRENT MARKET PRICE...THE ISSUE WILL BE OVER SUBS... AND ON LISTING LIC WILL SURELY SUPPORT THE SHARE PRICE AS GOVT HAS TO COME OUT WITH MANY FPOS IN CMG MONTHS SO THERE IS A GGOD CHANCE OF MAKING MONEY IN POWER GRID IT WILL GIVE 10-12 RS PREMIUM ON ALLOTMENT....SO RETAIL INVESTOR SHOULD INVEST IN THIS ISSUE AS IF THIS ISSUE GETS DISCOUNTED RETAIL WONT APPLY IN FPO LIKE SAIL, HINDCOPPER, ONGC,IOC....MANY MORE.. LIC SURELY WOULD SUPPORT THE PRICE OF THE SHARE.. CURRENT KOSTAK IS AROUND 2500-2700 .....HAPPY INVESTING REGARD....

i have a doubt in FPO.
We will apply for these shares and they will be credited to our account. how can there be a listing date?

Also, i have also heard most of the time the stock will reach the FPO price. Is it so?

Retail 2 lac limit will take time to kick Off. Most probably it will be done Dec.As per money control "The board will take up the track report in the next board meeting which is expected in December and that’s when the entire new takeover regulation is expected to come into effect."

Cheers,
Priyanka

Arti,
I do not think Power grid will subscribe 4-5 times in retail .Govt will decide FPO price below 95 that is for Sure.

That was good analysis...sice the closing price is 102..
The pricing should be done at 90 for Retail

whether the enhanced retail cap of rs.2 lacs will be applied in this fpo.....someone was telling yesterday that this will not apply in power grid as the co has to give 21 days notice to sebi....i don't agree but still want expert advice

196. Arti

Your analysis is nice & to the point.

Unlike IPOs, FPOs need to be priced properly. Otherwise, similar to NTPC & NMDC, LIC & SBI need to bail-out. To avoid that, I believe Government will price the issue attractively.

It will witness good demand from institutional investors.

In case it is priced at 100, NTPC or Reliance Infra looks good & thus response could be poor if pricing is unattractive.

Thanks,
vishal and a b for the information sharing i would try this in the upcoming IPO. I could not do in CIL. HDFC web site is too slow( at that time) and session got terminated giving me error of “session terminated” even if I would have taken some fraction of minute to enter the data. I thought as I am not HDFC Security member it has given me the error.

Please use the other options. I think its called NSDL There you have to fill DP ID number Client ID
I am using this facility for last one yr I have not faced any problem
The best part is that you will get the shares one day before listing in your demat a/c.

Enjoy using ASBA facility !!!!
