Shahranpuri,

good posting on Macquaire's report.

They say they have revised their target from Rs.83 to Rs.91 after the half yearly results. They share was quoting at Rs.100+ even when they had their target at Rs.83. They have always been pessimistic on this stock.

Since we have a contrary -ve view a lot more analysis is required.

power grid ke unche tower share price ko uncha nahi le ja payenge so thinking is to avoid this fpo becouse this is listed stock on nse and bse and did nothing in last one year so what is guarantee that this may go up after fpo i think this will also perform as nmdc.
_____________________________________________
any one want to subscribe he should take in mind that he is only take profit of 5% retail discount or price may go down to listing price becouse of its large size it is not perform as coal india becouse it has not a rating of 5 and large cash balance on its balance sheat and also such a large profit
so avoid .....................................................
or apply at lower end
or see QIB portion how much subscibed
this will give a idea that it hold its issue price or go below it
thanks

So due to above reasons lets not get euphoric after Coal India bumper listing.

Rather save your funds for MOIL IPO which will be a mini Coal India IPO
n can give much better returns than Power Grid FPO.

Samir Arora on CNBC today was not very positive on POwer grid FPO due to following reasons
1)It being a FPO price is already discovered
2)Its already available in secondary at a small premium of 4-5 %
3)FIIs will not take a bet on currency for small premium as the gain can be easily wiped out due to currency movements.
4)PGCIL operating in a regulated return environment of 15 odd %
5)Poor execution ability of power PSUs like NHPC,NTPC,PGCIL under not that impressive power minister n bureaucrats

Max. amt. which can be applied=Rs.198900/- (i.e) Rs.90/-x 65-shares x 34-lots. The max. amt. for a retail bidder has been raised from 1-lakh to 2-lakh and the notification has been issued by SEBI recently.

Power Grid,
In continuation with my previous post of Power grid.
As the Price fixed at 90Rs (85.5 for retail) , I think it is a good opportunity to get into the stock at 85.5 at any yardstick you have.
This stock is not for listing gain. Prices are all ready discovered. You can get listing gain when the prices are not known to both parties.
Do not see at the present price of the company now, see the company future, earning , management and expansion program etc.
Keep at least 6 to 12 month target for the this company.
In my opinion the issue will be oversubscribed by around 2.5 to 3.5 times. In that case the retail will get 300-400 shares. If you can hold this stock ( investment of about 25000 to 35000) then I am sure that you will be able to get at least 25-35% return on your investment.( 6-12 month horizon)

@ 400 ARTI

ARTI WTF is this calculation is all about..........??????????????
390. triple hhh |   Link |  Bookmark | November 8, 2010 7:49:26 PM
@379 Pradeep

Minimum lot is 65*90= 5850 & max is 1105*90 = 99450. Powergrid FPO is profit making machine. It gonna give 7000/- profit on full application as per my calculation. Coz the allotment part is crucial...coz of its heavy equity. It will subscribe 3 times around in reail category. LETS SEE.....

Shreedhar,

Whats your say about powergrid? today the price has gone to 98.

Srini, are you going for powergrid?"

I think we can make the final decision after seeing the QIB response. But I just would like to have initial information. All the brokers are again bullish on this fpo.

Gane.

What @ Power Grid FPO? One should invest for short term?
386. Ipofinder |   Link |  Bookmark | November 8, 2010 6:44:35 PM
Hi Guys,

Do apply in Power grid FPO in full load

It will touch 110-120 , once the FPO subscription ends(before allotment of FPO share)

Powergrid is a bluechip company and the valuations on which they are offering is very very good

Govt. has left a lot on the table for retailer investors

In case of EIL also it started going up once the FPO was over and before the allotment of shares came.

Apply in full load to have at least 5k-6K per application, which a handsome amount in such a short span
