This is against the common feel and comments here and mainly my analysis. The company has a book value of around 300+ and is priced at P/BV of 2.5 at 775. Finance companies are never valued against PE and P/BV is better comparison. Compare this with Can home finance, current P/BV is 5.5. Gruh finance is 14.4, HDFC is 4.1 (though it is not pure home finance), Indiabull housing is 3.41 and LIC housing is 3.24. The management is competent and their last 5 year result is better than the industry. The industry PE is 27. With all valuations the issue has atleast 25% upside potential and a fair value of anywhere between 1000-1500. You should be able to get this counter at 1200+ in a years time. I am not sure any listing potential which may depend on the market variance but this should not disappoint in a long term.

373. Madar |   Link |  Bookmark | October 26, 2016 11:25:58 AM
Apply both
PNB and VBL
IN WORST SCANARIO ONE WILL LIST AT DISCONT AND ONE AT PROFIT. SO NO LOSS.
IN MEDIUM CASE ONE AT PAR AND ONE AT PROFIT SO ONLY PROFIT
IN BEST CASE ONE AT PROFIT AND ONE AT PROFIT SO ONLY PROFIT

Can any one tell me which is better way to increase chances of getting allotted? Applying full quota (2 Lakhs worth of lots) ? or around half quota?...I am asking because I didn''t get allocation many times when I applied full quota but allotted most of the times when I applied around half quota.

Generally if it is subscribed by less than 3 times in retail investor category chances of you getting the lot are more if you apply only 1 lot against multiple lots. Same was case with Endurance.

IMO PNB is safe bet if u look at it balance sheet will give 10% listing pop at least. so 775+80 = 865 to 900 will be the listing price give the bull run seen in HFC however since it is big issue so liquidity will not be problem for demand from Fiis and Diis but if 30 times was the demand for anchor book then we can expect bumper listing. So all should put minimum lot application i have already put 7 application with minmum lot kept one application pending for HNI if the demand is less then 15 i will put an HNI application also

Do not make sentimental / emotional /illogical statements. QIB also subscribed multiple times to ICICI PRU. No one can make money in the market just by following someone.

for listing gains dont apply. There may not be listing gains.
for keeping as portfolio stock - apply and keep holding for couple of years.
