Dear Sir,
Paytm is a professionally managed company and does not have an identifiable promoter.

To prepare the case for higher valuation in IPO, Paytm has reduced all discounts and cashbacks during last two years to reduce loss on paper and in the process paytm has lost significant market share to other e-commerce platforms.

Payment business has become very competitive and more and more players are venturing in this segment.

With Alibaba in China in major trouble during last one year and significant anti-china sentiments in the country.....on one side funding became scarce on the other hand profitable revenue has come down drastically. COVID led to more and more online purchase but that also did not help paytm.

Paytm demand crossed 10 times(80k crore) in anchor book. Considering this case, remaining 72K crore should place bid in QIB section.

Paytm Bank, Paytm Money Stock Trading, Paytm PoS Payment all are good.

Rest all in App is just clusters at this moment. I suppose they would be improving on other areas.

I am no expert in Paytm valuation, for that matter these new age cos have not faced any stock market crash before we know their true support value.

One bad mark I notice is company employees review is below 3.6 in glass door. Usually good companies have 4 and above rating atleast initially. I remember 25 years ago joining Infosys was a big deal then.

If you cannot take care of your employees when you are small in size how would you manage when you grow bigger.

Very nice observation regarding employee satisfaction.
Most surprising was CEO''s statement to media regarding permanent WFH and internally employees are asked to be ready to join office. Shameful!

@Rajesh - Next time I suggest you look at the company fundamentals before suggesting "Don''t avoid" to anyone.

Looks like retailers bailing out this one also. If we get poor response from qib and hni (less than 1 time), better apply at lower price band.

Whosoever has invested in the IPO, take your money back. This IPO will be a huge disaster. You are going to loose money 100%. Better to wait for market to correct and invest in some good company rather than this crap.

You are correct in saying....good is actually not good enough...
In fact, good should be better than the best....

Zero debt company is only one of the 100 things to look into a company before investing. This is not even important.

The most important thing in a company is unique technology that open a new market for the company. Stock market loves USP.

Paytm karo bhai

I see a lot of speculation and ill-information being circulated regarding the Paytm IPO. Let me share some facts, so that it helps with decision making.

1. Paytm maintained revenue of 3,100 cr last year, even after Q1 was completely washed out due to covid lockdown and some of its big revenue businesses movies (same size as Bookmyshow), Travel (same size as Makemytrip) were impacted by covid. Q1 of this year revenues is a good indicator where paytm has crosses 900 cr in revenue (when movies & travel are still low), I expect paytm to cross atleast 4,500 cr. revenue in the current year, i.e. atleast 50% growth!

2. Internal investors and well known funds like TRP have internally priced this at Rs 2250 about 6 months back, so the GMP of 50-70 is wrong information. I expect listing to be atleast 2,400 or higher. Even employees are allocated shares at 2250.

3. Loss making - the company is expected to make losses for atleast next 2 years, but it will be the fastest to turn to profitability vs other internet players, as it does not have to spend money for getting every new order like zomato / swiggy.

4. Pre-ipo, shares were trading at INR 3,600 per share in secondary market. It seems unlikely that shares will reach that price on listing, but I believe 2150 is a really good IPO offer price. For records, company last raised insitutional funding in 2018 at a valuation of ~2,000 per share, since then stock markets have priced same companies at atleast 1.5x more value!

Ms. Sonia tried to extort 10Cr by stealing data.. FIR registered.. Case filed.. SHO handling the case himself arrested in another case.. Case against Sonia falls apart.. she calls she is innocent.. One97 Company wants money and going for IPO.. but Sonia must be still holding shares (considerable amount) and she will anyway gain from IPO.. any legal battle against her will defame the company and their market value.. Company tries to settle with her untill the IPO is over.

In all this game, only person at risk is the one who is going to buy their shares. The Retailers.

Only this guy @techspecialist minted money today as he got esop at Rs 9.

Personally I have PayTM installed but rarely use it. Mostly use Freecharge/Amazon for bill payments and GPay for transactions.

I find the app to be highly cluttered and non-user friendly. UI and UX is garbage compared to GPay.

If I am not using the product, I wont prefer buying this aggresively priced OFS as well.

Not applying for a paltry listing gain and unclear future and sense of direction.

True...My commercial payments accepting all google pay..phonePe..amazon pay....but paytm never installed.

As I said, MacQuarie also noted lack of focus in the company and has given target of 1200. I had avoided this share.

Many people advise to purchase at least 1 lot. I see no meaning in it. A person will make very little money with 1 lot even if the IPO is a hit. If through personal examination and QIB response, if there are high chances of premium listing, just go and apply with full force. I would advise everyone not to take half measures or pessimistic ventures.
