No QIB will sell on day 1, neither would retail sell at a loss. Only HNI have pressure to sell but there aren''t many in this case. There will be shortage of available stock which will drive up price.

Also, as per revenue, easily command valuation of 2400-2500 as per multiple brokerage houses.

If QIBs do not sell, only hni will be the sellers. who in this case will be the buyers?

QIBs interest dropped from 10x in anchor round to 2x in actual round. This happened with Paytm hiring 8! banks to float this IPO :)

Since IPO is already afloat, they are not going to pull any more show and let the market take its course which will lead to collapse in price of this stock.

PS - Retailers proved to be smart to see through this whole charade :D

If I go by conspiracy theory then it seems: Anchor investors may have been paid a fee to bid nn times to create market hype.
QIB are smart entities so they applied as per risk appetite of the portfolio they maintain, they are answerable to investors and their brand performance rating.
Anyway going to approve my UPI mandate for two accoy, will keep for long term.

Looking at Q1 (quarter hit by covid), paytm looks like on coarse to deliver 4000 -4500 cr this fiscal, which will take the valuation to 2lakh-2.25k lakh crore (25-30$b), about 25-50% higher than offer price.

After failing so long to break even they have come up with such high valuation. Wonder if they accepted the investment from Berkshire and burnt that also. Keen to know if Chinese investors exiting? Anyway al this does not make it Gland pharma.

What surprises me is that the anchor allotment was subscribed 10X. Total bid value was approx 82,350 CR.
Till 3.40 P.M total QIB bid value has touched only 15800 CR.
Does not look like the QIB bid will cross 5x hence giving it a skip.

I wonder how much Chinese ownership has a role to play in very poor MF subscription

Yes, I agree. great anchor book with 10 X. completely muted response from QIB (may be after seeing HNI, QIB also skipped?)
I just applied in retail 15 lots. (I just to have this shares in my long term folio - just as a symbol, its being biggest IPO)

Are you really going to stuck money for 15 lots in retail when it is not even 2x in retail, meaning 100% confirmed allotment to who are applying.
Will you hold all 15 lots for long term?

yes, I wanted to get Paytm in my folio, for long term, purposefully I applied in 15 lots (HNI time was closed when I applied, otherwise I would have applied 20 lots there any way).

1) As Retail category has subscribed more than one time, your 15 lot is as good as 1 lot only and more over you will get allotment on lottery basis only. There is no proportionate allotment available in Retail Category. If there is heavy rejection of mandate and because of that if the total retail subscription gets reduced to less than one time, then you will get allotment of all 15 lots.
2) As far I am concerned, initially I wanted to apply in full force under NII, just two days before I changed my original plan but to apply at least one lot in three different accounts and finally today I skipped this IPO. Why should we stuck up with doubtful IPOs and live with tension? By the by, I entirely disposed of my 80 share of Nykaa with hefty profit and now I will concentrate on future IPOs. Lot of opportunities are coming.

Considering subscription numbers, I think, you are still hoping for good (atleast at par) listing. Right?

If mandate not accepted yet, simply decline or leave it as it is.
If mandate is already accepted, drop a mail to registrar, they might help.

I want to say that it will list little above par or at par, but may list negative.
the only problem i have is, when I think to buy the IPO companies, while listing day, it may go down, I was waiting for to come down little more, and it may miss from my radar, and will not able to buy again if it gone up too much.
I dont believe in buying negative listing of an IPO. I just take chances in IPO, will keep it for long term. most of them rewarded so far, except few. Lets see.

I agree with your first point about retail subcriptions and allotment basis.
But in this IPO, I will get full allotment. (as you said about retail may not accept all mandates and one more reason is HNI not subcribed fully, remaining will come to retails as per proportionate basis).

This is loss making company and that is why the RII is reserved for 10% only instead of 35% to avoid possible hardship to RII. Hence, I think, the unsubscribed portion of HNI will go to QIB only and not to RII. இரவு வணக்கம்.

as per the past IPOs BOAs document, it will be go to other categories as per that category reservation %.
overall QIB will get ~80% of HNI unsubscribed shares and RII will get ~20%

For Example pls check BOA of SONA COMSTAR they have mentioned one line Unsubscribe portion of <> equity share spilled over to QIB and RII categories in the ratio of 75:10
