Allocation of shares also depends on number of application in that particular band, usually lesser people apply at higher band therefore there is higher probability of getting more shares at full application. this also means that there is higher probability of getting lesser shares at lower lot application !
note oil secretary interview in moneycontrol and he is telling the ipo will be priced at upper band and he quotes the fundamentals are good without any debt and i dont think the govt.is not considering retail investors woes in the last two ipos
oil sec. says allotment at upper band 1050, but still dont loose heart good company will list around 1125, on 1 lac application get 75x 50= 3750, nearly 4 % return in 20 days
dear sam,in employee quota there is confusion.employee who have to bid for more than 1 lakh ,then he has to give a price band of rs.1050/-.he cannot apply at cut-off.and 1050/-,ultimately means cut-off.so those employee who have applied at rs.1050/-will be automatically get allotment.so ithink whoever applied for 90 shares will get betwen 55 and 60.
Good calculation Mr. Sam. But there are chanes that offer price will come down to 1000/- or even 950/-. It would be great if you to do this exercise for other possible scenario's as well (like 950/- & 1000/-)
