Tushar, you are misguiding people. If it could list up to 60, Govt. would nothave allowed you the price of Rs.36/=. Equity base is very big, floating stock also will be too large. Hence, you cannot expect a great price movement. Since the market is good, you may hardly get 2 to 3 per share. thats it!
NHPC to be listed on stock exchanges on September 1

MUMBAI: State-run NHPC would be listed on the stock exchanges on September 1, making it the first public sector firm to be available for trade under the second term of Congress-led UPA government.
"From September 1, the equity shares of NHPC Ltd shall be listed and admitted to dealing in the exchange," the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) said in a statement today.
The issue price of NHPC shares has been fixed at Rs 36 a piece.
The government run power producer raised Rs 6,000 crore through its initial public offer (IPO), which closed on August 12. It had come out with 167.73 crore shares in the primary market in the price band of Rs 30-36.
Over one-third stake is being held by the government in NHPC, which is the sole promoter of the company.
NHPC would use the IPO proceeds to part fund its ongoing investments in 11 projects. It also has plans to add 14,000 MW of power by 2020 for which it has either completed survey of projects or was in the process of surveying several others.
With an installed capacity of 4,815 MW, the company has 11 projects under construction aggregating to a total capacity of 4,622 MW. The new projects are likely to be commissioned by 2012.
With the completion of NHPC's IPO, the disinvestment programme of UPA-II has started on a high note as the IPO was over subscribed 23 times.
My Application No. 52328954. dt.11.08.09. I can also send you the scan application. Please give me your email id so that i can send the scanned reciept cum application form of the IPO.

I think it will list at 42 to 45 & go up to 52 to 58 on listing day very good share 4 long term it can go up to 150 to 200 in 2 to 3 years so i think i will give better return as compare to F.D. so its up 2 u to hold it or sell it on listing. i am thinking of selling of some old shares which r not giveing me better retur & keeping NHPC shars 4 long term as it will give good dividend also bcoz its PSU.
36 for NHPC is very expensive. PE of 35 range. Did you see any PSU with such high PE. So i wouldnt suggest there to be any listing gains. Max listing possible is 38 or 40 .
DEAR RAMESH SUYAL IF YOU ARE SHORT TERM INVESTOR SELL ON THE DAY OF LISTING, IT WILL GIVE YOU PROCEEDS OF RS. 60 PER SHARE. IF YOU ARE COURAGEOUS ENOUGH KEEP IT FOR LONG TIME FOR SAY 3-5 YEARS. IT WILL DEFINITELY RS. 300 OR SO WITHIN 3 YEARS. DON'T SELL ON PANIC. TRY TO ACCUMULATE MORE SHARES IN YOUR PORTFOLIO.
hi manoj i am fully agree with your views. it is true that nhpc price will cross rs. 200 within a year. at the same time listing price will also around rs. 60.
