Such a silly regulation. I hope they roll it back asap. Now money will get blocked daily to buy new listings preempting when flippers will sell. If we get allotment also money will be stuck till it reaches fair value. Really strange move.

Imitating BSE mechanism without any inspection. Subscriptions for even not so good ones will also increase as underlying they know 90% cap is there, one move gets UC. Sort of encourages more listings like Dienstein Tech.

People who did not buy due to high listing price will come in to take advantage of the gap between 90-250% in the ensuing days after listing.

In fact i think its done to facilitate brokers, as more flip orders, more people trying to get in, brokerage charges are already on cusp of getting increased. @rohiitian

Now only flippers will purchase during pre open. We small retailers won't be able to buy FFF. Although this must have been done in favour of retailers but in reality they won't get anything now. Bad Move

This initiative would have been good if they had also introduced a buying limit to say 20-30 lots only per demat for pre-open. OR anybody who buys more than that has a lock-in of 15 days at least!
No one should be able to block the entire pre-open market with their big orders getting preferential treatment. Absolutely horrendous decision in the absence of any such method.

Totally flawed decision. In such a scenario, NSE has to allot the shares to all demat holders a single lot whoever places order during pre open instead of seeing the punching time of orders to prevent big brokers garnering all shares

Kachra move.....now Mansi and multipliers type flippers will only benefit .....this is black day for retailers

Bureaucrats who never made a single penny from their own money in markets designing rules and regulations. Markets are not a book they gallop and jot down, its much more than that and this clearly shows lack of understanding @Kapz @KGSKIPO

​@rohiitian SEBI always take worst decision..People who allotted thinking might earned above 3,00,000 now dream crashed...Is any way sebi rollback their decision...

I was thinking BSE would let go of this sillly 90/20 rule, but instead NSE followed BSE to implement the same @rohiitian 
@MuStrFc - The rule is only applicable to SMEs and not mainline, not a large percentage of investors/traders invest/trade in SMEs. So, I don't see a very big impact (positive) to the brokerage industry.

Some of the listings have been well above the fair value, allottess could easily book on the lisitng pop.
Now, one needs to has to roughly gage a fair value and got to patiently hold till that time.

One interesting fact is - the allotments in my personal account are usually bad omen (previously allotments have resulted in either well below par listings/temporary end of IPO bull runs)
I was afraid of below par listing but this move from NSE is a shocker.

​@GrayIsTheNewBlack Waise i think Nephro will still give you the return if you hold. Though i think stock even at +90% is too expensive, the GMP has been around enough for ppl to jump in when the flippers exit.

From now we have to set a routine to place AMO orders daily for stocks we want so when the flippers exit, we're in line

At least they could have shortened the circuit change date from 15 days to 7 to ease on holding shares, but that doesn't seems to be coming.

What about the 9:35 to 9:45 random listing price discovery, that was applicable for all in 3 months. What's to discover when its already pegged at 90% in case of SMEs? @rohiitian  @GrayIsTheNewBlack

One thing I don't understand is why many people sell at 90% (previously seen in BSE listings) when they can see there are buy orders in Crores for paultry sell orders of few lakhs. Who are these people ?

Flippers btw, would now make ton of money with some very sureshot trades. Is any of Mansi, Multiplier, etc. listed ?

Also - one positive I see is If the allotment is in a high income tax account, I can transfer the share to lower income tax account and hold it that account if I want to.
Max income tax I would have to pay from high tax account is on listing day closing price. Rest will be with other lower income tax bracket account.
@MuStrFc @rohiitian - you see anything wrong in doing that ?

If it's really true, It's a very great decision for those who want to enter SME IPOs on listing day.. especially retailers like me

Generally saying it's a good decision in retailers point of view.

Because atleast retailer was able to buy on listing day in pre open....now only those people will be able to buy ,those have direct line ....as retailer cant punch bid at exact 9 AM...

In BSE , in any good IPO, i never able to buy in pre open, whenever i click at exact 9 AM,,, it place order at fraction of seconds late, till than lakhs of bids come before specially QIB people .....

Now we will be not able to buy even in NSE SME,,,, only QIB will benefit as they will corner all shares at 90% as they have direct link.....

Mansi and other flipper ,,there are able to buy even the best of bse sme on listing in huge quantity, the reason being they have direct line....for example in GEM enviro...they got bulk entry on listing day....

Its a black day for retailer....those having allotment and those wanted to buy in preopen both....only flippers and QIB will enjoy due to this rule
