Kochi: Kerala-based Muthoot Capital Services Ltd (MCSL) today said it will soon introduce a product wherein the company will provide loans against Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETF).

"This is the first time such a loan finance scheme is being introduced," MCSL Managing Director Thomas George Muthoot told reporters here.

Gold ETFs are issued by Asset Management Companies against 99.5 purity gold kept by them with depositories. The securities are in de-materialised form and can be easily transferred, encashed and traded in stock exchanges, he added.

By introducing this product, the company would be putting to use the Group's core competence in granting loan against gold to provide liquidity for investors in ETF, thereby promoting the popularity of ETF, he said.

In addition, the company has introduced Smart Plus Auto Loan under which the full cost price of the vehicle is given as loan enabling the borrowers to leverage their gold ornaments against the margin requirement.

Sreedhar - I think we can soon expect other Muthoots viz. Mini Muthoot, Muthoot Fin Corp to follow their big brother. They are also in big expansion mode. Lately I find them searching for office space everywhere.

Manapuram has announced 1;1 bonus & also have posted excellent results for March qtr.

Price bids at 175 also need to be considered, which usually constitute more than 95%. Retail total 8.5x and after few rejections (2%), it is finally 8.35x (back calc with 134 shrs).

After seeing Mannapuram results today, think there will be very high optimism in investors and so Rs 215 on listing day is for sure.
