AK@271 Interest earned on fixed deposit will have tobbe clubbed with your regular income and will be taxed at rates applicable in accordance with your total taxable income. TDS deducted by bank is at the rate of 10.2% or thereabout. If your taxable income falls under higher bracket you will have to pay accordingly(Differece only).
Dear IPO BAKRA (277) I thought you will be providing some clarification to Mr. AKG (275) for his problem. Instead you chose to be highly sarcastic without knowing the problem. We should understand that there is no MANDATE (either from SEBI) or any other law that the refund should be effected through ECS. Further, the Registrar to the Issue (Intime Spectrum) etc., have been appointed by the Company and as such are required to work as per the instructions of the Company. It is the prerogative of the company to issue refund either by ECS or through physical cheques (Unless it is specified in the prospectus about ECS refund). In addition, the incorrect MICR details also pose problem to effect ECS refunds. Thus, there are host of reasons why the cheques are being issued for refunds instead of ECS. While all of us have to consciously make efforts to get the refund through ECS and take all steps necessary to do so, we should certainly desist from making uncharitable comments like "intime people need money to pay salary to the staff" etc. which is contrary to truth and facts, especially when the money in Escrow Account and it cannot be used for purposes of paying salary etc. So let us use this wonderful platform for exchanging useful and meaningful information.
I also have same problem that my acc is with kotak an getting the IPO refund via cheques... can any body tell how can I get the refunds/IPO or dividend via ECS ??? also money is not getting transfered from IPO acc to svaings imideately it takes someting more than 6 working days.
Dear AK 244/245, Yes I confirm that if u bought a share in last f/y and sold it in current f/y (in profit) after agap of 12 months, then u don't need to pay any tax.
Similarly, if you have held the shares for less than 12 mths, you have to pay only a FLAT rate of 10% as tax as short-term capital gains, especially if you have paid Security Transaction Tax at the time of sale of the shares (i.e. through stock exchange). The slab rate of tax is not applicable to short term capital gains. However, if you are trading in stock (instead of investing) that trading will be treated as your business and then in such a case your gain will be considered as your business profit and you will be liable to pay the tax on slab rate.
Dear akg(275),this time be ready for a late refund also. INTIME SPECTRUM people need our money to pay their staff salary. They will send refund chqs.(these illiterate people don't understand ECS)earliest by SANKRANTI or HOLI. They will send chq without putting ur bank a/c no.. So anybody can encash ur chq. by opening an a/c in ur name
