Hello all I would like to share my knowledge regarding allotment of shares for retail applicants in a book building issue in case of over subscription: After fixing the issue price Step 1: Prepare a table containing the following details: Column 1 - No. of lots (example: 1,2,3,4,5, upto max lots), Column 2 - No of total shares bid for, Column 3 - Percentage of total shares bid for at issue price and above issue price, Column 4 - No. of shares allotted to each cateory (1,2,3, max lots), which is calculated by multiplying the percentage term in column 3 by the total no of shares reserved for retail. Once the above table is prepared, the allotment is decided within each category (lot wise) by the following procedure: Step 1 - calculate as to how many complete lots can be given to each applicant. It may be 1, 0r 2 or 3 etc. If it comes to less than 1, the category goes under lottery system, by which a certain no of applicants out of certain no (some other number) of applicants (example 13 for every 16 applicants) will be given a single lot. if the number of lot can exceed more than a whole number lots (1,2,3,etc), every applicant will be allotted a whole number lot and then the remaining shares will be equally divided among all applicants. The above procedure has to be repeated for every lot-wise category. Important Note: As a result of the above methodology, no one can get shares, which is less than a single lot size (say 15 shares). At the end of the process following will be the result: 1. Some applicant: 0 Share 2. Some applicants: 1 lot, 2 lots, 3 lots, etc 3. Some applicants: whole number lots + less than the lot size (say 7 shares, 9 shares, etc, for the lot size of 15) I welcome your corrections, if I misunderstood something Bye Mani
For mr. kiran (682)... the allotment method given by you is not right....you have just calculated by using a simple formula [(16.1941/No. of times lot applied)*100]. as some of the retail subscribers have applied for less then cutoff price, hence will not get allotment. so chances of allotment are higher then you shows for those people who have applied at cutoff.
Guys Iam seeing these allotment messages. But I decline these views. Its not compulsory to mudra to allot exactly 15 shares per person. It may be 12or11or13. The applicatnts who applied for 225, they surely get the shares. if not 15 definatly 13 or 12. Good luck. Srinivas
